Bishops Castle 5 2013 - Enter the Dragon
First topic message reminder :
To allow time for you guys & gals to save beer tokens & build up enough Brownie points etc a date of Saturday 8th June has been decided for BC5.
As usual the ride will be centered around Shropshire & Wales & peeps are welcome to join for just the rideout or to B&B/camp for both the Friday & Saturday nights with food in the local hostelries which will be announced in due course.
B&B's are aplenty & most will take a booking in advance without requiring payment untill the weekend in question so its always a good idea to book early as last year it got very busy with a local wedding taking up some of the B&B's we normally use.
Below is a link to the main places to stay all within easy walking distance & please just ask if we can offer any help or advice, The Claremont also have as well as B&B a property which can be shared by a number of peeps who may wish to reduce costs by sharing & if I remember correctly a garage they have allowed us to use for the bikes in the past.
The Foxholes Camp site have a Bunk house, Static Caravan & Camping available.
Thanks Nick & Ellie

Re: Bishops Castle 5 2013 - Enter the Dragon
Bought some Oxford paniers for this trip from BMF for a bargain of £30, thought I would try them at the weekend as I had to go to London.
Forgot they were there after travelling 70 miles. When entering my friends driveway i caught one on a gate post! Will be getting needle and thread out tonight. Ballards!

Re: Bishops Castle 5 2013 - Enter the Dragon
Yes Owen, Can you ask your mates to read the rules on the drop off system we use please? Its getting a seriously large rideout and we want it to remain as incident free as possible. It works well if you're ofay with it.
You need to be fuelled up at the Boars Head for 8.30 if poss, 8.45 at the very latest.
I think we can accept no more people for tea at the Three Tuns as they told us that 26 is the limit and we're over that already, with them very kindly squeezing in a few extras already.

Re: Bishops Castle 5 2013 - Enter the Dragon
ayy will do they have been on rideouts using the system before it will be a first for me but the 2 old men are not sure now one of them has work comitments and the other with the r1 needs to get tyres first as they would be better called slicks.

Re: Bishops Castle 5 2013 - Enter the Dragon
if your following rosco's list, I'd take just one trainer, a spare r1 brake lever, random allen keys, some bridge jumped curry and something to plug an oil leak when your bike decides it wants to do its own oil change....
on a more proper list note, I would consider some national road side recovery if you don't already have it, might be a bit of a outlay to start with, though can find deals if you shop around, as if you break down or have an off, having that backup to get you and the bike home is worth its weight in gold.

Errrrr It's a bit more obvious than that in fairness Tel,
Just a fully booked restaurant where we have fifty percent of the place booked ourselves on one table (which we stay at till closing time) that holds 26, I think asking for numbers & pre orders a week in advance is more than acceptable & Tim & his staff at the Three Tuns do us proud, Personally I'd struggle to find anywhere else in the area that accommodates us so well.
