Bishops Castle II
After a quick discussion with the boss , (I mean Tel btw, not Ellie ) the proposed date for Bishops Castle II is the weekend of the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of May, rideout Saturday 22nd May, mainly Wales again. No more info than this at the moment, the purpose is purely to allow folks to book leave, as requested. Please contact me if necessary.
Thanks
Nick

Re: Bishops Castle II
Hi Nick
I've not been able to make BC due to clashes with other things and this year it is too close to the German trip to allow my brownie points to accumulate.
I'm sure it will be a great one again and look forward to seeing the pics and hearing the stories.
Cheers

Good you can make it Tel & Bea, 'fresh' from Eifel and all, defiantly beats any 'detour' I've made to a (UK) ride-out

Re: Bishops Castle II
I'm really pleased with the sign up for BC2, already we have thirteen bikes & nineteen peeps which is brilliant & we can be assured of a warm welcome in the local hostelries again.
I'm not sure at the moment whether this may be the last BC rideout as I'm moving away from Shropshire next month to set up home with the lovely Ellie in Derbyshire (oh the Peak district is calling already lol)
I Hopefully I will find time to carry it on but the logistics of doing the recce may prove difficult & I'll see how I cope with it this year before making a final decision.
Thanks for all the comments & support with this ride & hopefully it will be memorable again for all the right reasons

Home again home again safe and sound too.
Was great to see everyone there.
My but wasn't it just scorchio . . . . Boil inna bag type kit in me leathers both on the ride-out and on the way home today.
Thanks too from me Nick for an exellent weekend. Well planned and well executed ride out. Stunning scenery good roads and smashing weather. The meal at the Three Tuns wasn't half bad too.
The batton for next years BC has now been passed to Radar (being local an awl ), so looking forward to that already.
Can't wait to see the pic's and the write up from Radar, which from previous works you just know is gonna be a belter.
I'll leave the reporting of foo fars to others . Keep an eye on the numpty nominations
Sorry to Si for the broken blade, you must be gutted mate :( all the best and hope you get it sorted quickly.
Look forward to others comments.
Tel.
PS: Lets see some of you newer members with yer s out there on some of these meets. We do 'em for EVERYONE , so come along and enjoy .

Re: Bishops Castle II
Got home just after 4PM, got the kit in, parked the bike and had a lie down, slept for 4 hours!
SatNav came back to life as we left BC, but my brain never did boot up properly today - just as well as I wasn't like this yesterday
The lovely twisty bits that I enjoyed so much on the way up was spoilt by cagers out for a drive 'to nowhere' at speeds that would have frustrated even caravan drivers.
Only stopped once, and the SatNav went wonky again - dunno seems to have developed a phobia of petrol stations - was fine again when I rode away :o
Video cam decided to die though - not a good day for technology, at least the didn't miss a beat, although it was running at 100C whilst moving at the speed limit a few miles from home.
Thank you Nick for organising a great weekend, route was brilliant; to Ellie for customising my ride and allowing me to do an extended route, twice
That has to be a ride-out first, loosing the Tail end Charlie at the first junction You wouldn't have wanted to hear what was going on in my helmet when I got to the next town and couldn't find anyone
Hope you get back on two wheels quickly Si, glad you didn't get caught up in the accident - hope the biker has a speedy recovery from his broken colar bone.
Maybe in future think twice about letting me be TEC Pete took over with no problem It did give me chance to enjoy myself in 2nd spot - that was a great bit of road Nick
A big thanks to everyone who attended, riding was good and together we made it a great day (and two great nights ).
That had to be the best steak I have had in the UK, think we may have upset the staff when asked for a steak knife though.
Pics on their way to Flickr.
Now, do I dare do this ...
I nominate Ellie for a prestigious numpty award for making sure I wasn't going to have an easy time at the back
Little wonder you are always in trouble Pete - seems a good idea at the time to let 'em get lost, but is it really worth the ear ache?

Re: Bishops Castle II
Well.....What a fantastic weekend, thanks everyone, great to see you all again, loved all your company.
Had a great bimble back via Nantwich, Cat & Fiddle, Buxton etc.
Maybe if Nicks handing the Baton over to Radar next year, he can organise another rideout somewhere else, as he makes such a cracking job of it, as Im sure you'll agree.
Problem is, as Im the only one that seems to know where Im going, you'd all probably get lost
Hope you've got the bike sorted Si!
Great food, superb weather, fantastic company, what else could we ask for????
Ellie :bounce:

Re: Bishops Castle II
Memorable - "quotes" -
Pete - (at the bird sanctuary) "Nah ! thats not a kite, no strings."
Tony - "The Bishops Castle alpine ski team summer meet" . . . you have to picture the scene . . . group of walkers, ski sticks, no slippery planks, no mountains , no snow within a hundred mile radius and a redders hot day.
Nick - "It's alright Ellie knows the way" . . . . . she propmtly went straight on instead of turning right.
Feel free to add

Re: Bishops Castle II
Hi all, good to see some familiar faces again and some new ones.
I was having a really good time until the cursed 'blade struck again (and the 5 hours in a recovery van with a bike hating welsh maniac)
Have done the post-mortem today, luckily found it straight away, the wire from the stator/alternator had melted.
Thanks to Nick for all the organising, it's made me realise I need to get back over there more often...
Hopefully see yooz all again in not too distant future (but it definitely won't be on a 'blade :whoop: )

Welll..I really do want a KTM of some description.
Basically it's come to a point where I have to decide between comfort/distance work and lairyness...
Tho' there is a certain black/silver ZX6 just up the road. Tempting me..
