having said that anyone on here saying they have never gone over 100 on their bikes either have a 125 or are liars, so lets not blast this guy for wanting to do it but there is a place to do it and public roads just aint it
I've come off at 38 mph....hit a boulder coming out of a blind bend.
Yes I did hit it at 38 mph......no I was not doing that thru the bend, that was after some hard braking I managed to reduce to that.
Point is: Broken shoulder, bruised Ribs and 8 weeks of recovery later!!!!!!!

Re: Speed test
I haven't read every thread on here so I may be going slightly off topic.
However, the quickest I went on the Cat was 150mph on the final straight at the Nurburgring. I have to admit it wasn't comfortable as the leathers were flapping away even though I was tucked in (behind the fairing that is, not the jacket tucked into the trousers - oh you know what I mean).
I rarely, if ever, do silly speeds in this country. Firstly, there are far too many idiot drivers about and secondly, I want to keep my licence.

Last time I was in Warsaw the piwo was terrible...but cheap, so cheap in fact that the neck would snap off 1 in 10 of the bottles when we opened them.
That was in 1988 though and the Russians were still knocking around enforcing a curfew, so things have probably changed a hell of a lot.

Dislocated the collar bone and tore the ligaments. Needed surgery to reset the bone and stich the ligaments. Had 2 screws in to hold everything in place for 6 weeks. The a 2nd op to remove the screws. Then another week to recoved from that!!!!
The bruised ribs were the most painfull. I cld not laugh, sneeze or cough without hurting so much I wanted to cry. For 2 weeks I needed help getting up.....even just to situp and they were just bruised!!!!

Sounds to me like your leathers might be too big. I am 1.85m tall and weigh 140kgs...so I am not small but I manage to tuck in quite nicely behind the screen on a cat. I've ridden an 03' R1 and the screen on that is small. There if I sit up i act like an AIR-BRAKE. I can go from 150 to 120 by just sitting up and releasing the throttle....

Re: Speed test
Just reading through this thread, and whilst I understand the initial forcefulness of the first few posts on the subject.
Some were a little bit over the top. I don't think it's the right time of year to try such a stunt. If there was a suitable road, at a suitable time, in suitable conditions then I wouldn't castigate anyone for opening it up.
I've been out with members on here and we've hit 3 digit speeds on single lane country roads so we're hardly in a position to sermonise on the rights and wrongs of speeding.
If you're going to try and top line it, I would wait until summer, go out very early and choose a suitable stretch of Dual Carriageway or Motorway.
On you're own head and licence be it.
Chances are you'll get bored very quickly anyway. Anyone can go fast in straight line.

Aye, damn near a generation ago.
Tried spirytus as well (plain bottle, no label, probably made in a still in someone's barn), but that set everyone off fighting each other so we didn't buy it again.
