My winter project.
First topic message reminder :
Hi I'm not sure if this is the place to do this but here goes. I bought my cat about a week ago and have enjoyed getting to grips with it
I'm going to hang on until the weather gets too bad to ride with confidence and then start the job of bringing the bike back to tip top condition :whoop:
I'll put some pics up once I have worked out how to get them off my phone
So keep checking and please comment if you think I'm going wrong anywhere.

At blooming LAST!!
Well I may be shouting too soon but... My discs should be here tomorrow or friday But I'm not holding my breath.
If this is the case then I will be able to finish the bike and test ride my efforts ready for the summer season :whoop:
I do apologise for the loads of posts/pics and then nothing but it has all been down to G&B motorcylce spares and the NEC show.
Lets hope the discs arrive and I can resume normal mass posting and pictures..lol

Re: My winter project.
Mate that is stonkin.
I have now moved in to a new house with a garage, just need to sort the garage out and I can start stripping mine.
Mine however will be nowehre near as good as yours and will definitely take MUCH longer but will be giving this thread several re-reads to give me a kick up the 'harris when I'm losing motivation
This is officially my favorite thread

Re: My winter project.
Still no fecking discs though.... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr after 12 tomorrow the gloves are off and I'll be going mental down the phone and also talking to trading standards and my card company..
Re: My winter project.
So these are discs you ordered at the bike show?? Was it a reputable company & and have you been it touch with them? It's a pain in the arse but at least you card company will be on your side if they haven't delivered the goods.
I'd report them to the bike show organisers as well.

Re: My winter project.
Well the discs arrived this morning and like a kid at christmas could not wait to get home. They looked and felt really well made. So I get home, rush into the garage and offer them up against the old discs and........................ The fronts are wrong :0( to say I was angry was an understatement so I phoned them up and found out that they are at the excel show tomorrow, so I'll be going up there and if I don't get it sorted tomorrow (walk away with discs that fit the bike) I will ask for a refund and will have to buy another set (not as nice) elsewhere. That will be two months and a lot of agro for nothing.
I'm still spitting nails now!!!!

I Bet ! Sometimes there just aren't the right or enough keys on the keyboard to express huh ?supraloopy wrote:I'm still spitting nails now!!!!
Hope you get it sorted. . . . Looking forward to the next (and hopefully finished) bit of the project

All I can think of is using the new discs as throwing stars at G&B motor cycle spares staff. And relax!!!
Back to square one :0(
Well they could not sort it out at the show, so I got a refund and they gave me the rear wavy disc for 25£.
So I'm now back looking for a set of wavy front discs. I have been told to goto sandy bike spares so will give them a go.
The show was good but I was hoping to walk away with a set of discs so I can finish the bike
G&B Motor cycle spares (the choice is yours)

Re: My winter project.
Sorry to hear that they couldn't sort it all out properly for you, hopefully you'll find some decent enough replacements soon enough
Though may want to wait a bit for this heatwa....sorry snow storms to pass!

Re: My winter project.
I have decided to keep my original front discs and just paint them. I have looked and looked for a set of waveys for the front but can not be sure I'm going to get the right thing, also the cost is stupid at around 400 for the pair. I'm not sure on import tax etc for ordering from china so I give up I'm gutted as I really wanted the bike to be as new and looking sweet. maybe one day I'll find a good/cheap ish set of fronts.
Re: My winter project.
I know they aren't waveys, but what about some EBC's? they give a good look, not sure how costly they are though...

Re: My winter project.
EBC's Look stock and are 200 ish each. my original fronts are fine so I'm going to use them. It's all vanity mate the originals are probably the best for the front anyway, just lurve the waveys ;0)
