Well on my way to work yesterday I was following a car (woman driver) whilst doing about 20 mph due to being near a school , she then indicated left slowed down and moved over , I checked it was clear and moved into the other lane to over take , GUESS what happend next

Yep she then turned right !

Damage to my baby is not too bad  [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Apart from the missing paint , it has a 3 inch crack across the nose cone , crack the side from the indicator up, a small crack at the front on both inside and outside panals , snapped the brackets at the bottom off the V and pushed it all back slightly so I'd say it bent the brackets.
I stayed on the bike and kept it upright , slight pain in my knee due to being crushed between them but not a major injury

Oh crap.

Gutted for you.

Hope you mend well and the bike fixes up without too much fuss or expense.

Hope the insurance sees it the way we'd all feel about it.

Is it technically an overtake at a junction though?? ponder ........fingers crossed for you.

Have you got any independent witness to those actions / events??

If it boils down to your word against theirs then unfortunately this might make their version of events quite different to yours.

Had a similar experience on a motorway off ramp (in a car) where a young lady thought she would change from lane 1 to lane 2 even although lane 2 was soon to merge into lane 1. I saw it coming but couldn't brake hard enough or move over enough to miss her. My front left hit her rear right.
I was in the right but since it boiled down to my word against hers it settled 50/50 as far as insurance was concerned.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Hope you're OK. It'll be nice if she admits fault. However, it could be seen by insurers that you shouldn't have been going around her until she had 100% committed to her turn.
I was in a similar situation on a round-a-bout but luckily the highway code was on my side. Did she say sorry or admit fault?
Hope its sorted quickly for you. Mine took 18 months!

Regards

Mike
