More miles added.
Well just done another 15 miles (I know). Lucky around here with the traffic being light making for less nerves.
Planned my route so it involved a lot of left-hand turns Going straight is fine just to need to get confidence with cornering.
Did manage to equal the fastest I ever went on the X5.
Prehaps I shouldn't have mentioned that?

Re: More miles added.
If memory serves the x5 was suzuki's go at the Yamaha RD200 and was well up to 75 - 80 +
No embarrassment there m8 . . . . main point is you get home in one piece and with a joker shaming cheesey grin on yer chops

Cheers Oldcat. Workmate still hasn't got his Ninja so still going solo!
I'll post a picture of it as soon as.
Right about the X5, lad in our village had an RD 200 same time as my X5.

Re: More miles added.
Hi RTB,
Love the post!
Brings back memories (good and bad) of doing my DAS course. Never thought I'd get the hang of it - but you do.
Keep practising and enjoying time in the saddle. Remember, if it doesn't feel right it probably isn't! Then it's time to slow down.
Following another rider is a great way to learn about lines and road position (if they're doing it right and you don't feel you're chasing them) so I'd recommend that.
Keep us up to date with progress.
Chris

Re: More miles added.
RTB, I've just today done a bikesafe course with the local constabulary. Well worth the £35 it cost. 3 hours in the "class" room , then a 1 to 1 ride out with a experienced, trained biker who reviewed and commented on my riding style and gave helpful tips of how best to improve my riding.
One word, Brilliant.
But only if you'll listen and take advise on board.
Plus there were a few gizzets to take away as well.

Cheers Panzerbuilder.
Was thinking of doing a "Rusty Rider" course but may look into your suggestion.

Re: More miles added.
Just come back from a 23 mile jaunt. Thought I'd do some right hand turns this time. Be nice & easy if it was just me on the road, bloody traffic! So few cars, all at the wrong time.
Luckily for me the road outside my home has a nice mile long straight so finished with a nice blast.

I got a lot of wisdom and practical advice. Some of even stuck. Every day is a school day.

Think that's the route I'm going to take Rosco. Give my workmate another week to get himself sorted, if not I'm going on my own.
Only on the road when the traffic is light, but it can't stay that way.

It is a pity the traffic isn't always light. You've got some lovely roads there, they'll entice you
I remember when I picked up my 'Cat, my first time on British roads on a bike and my car experience totaled a few miles to a village in 'rural' England in 1980.
That first trip, the M25 seemed a great place to be and I preferred it to the A roads I had to travel to get home. Roundabouts terrified me, I saw more in a mile than I had my whole life.
That was four years ago. I quickly got over the 'love' of the M25, roundabouts don't scare me and I'm nearly getting the hang of going around corners
The more miles you do the more your confidence grows - good luck and enjoy, practice makes purrfect
