Wee Mac Shopping List (Bar List) - Speak now please
Hi All
DBD and myself will be going shopping together tomorrow night to get Wee Mac supplies. It'll be online shopping and at least one of us might be sober so wish us luck.
We will be loosely be basing it on the previous years shopping list.
Please let us know if you are vegetarian.
Unless you tell me otherwise breakfast will be a cooked scottish breakfast every morning for everyone.
Any budding cooks out there want to take over from the slap happy attempts at evening meals by Messers Rosco & Dirt Bike Dave or are we doing a great job?
I think Mally's Breakfast of Champions crown is safe though.
You can suggest something different for the menu and/or wear the big chef hat in the kitchen.
Evening meals will be Friday night - Pizzas, wedgies and dips.
Saturday night is looking like a mexican burrito / chilli theme with salad
Sunday some kind of pasta thing "Mamas Best Shitto Bolocknaise" as DBD calls it.
Please let us know your tipple asap
We are going to the liberty of ordering a selection of Fine "crafty" Ales for our arrival also.
You have 24 hours (ok maybe 28 hours) to respond.
Cheers
Rosco

Re: Wee Mac Shopping List (Bar List) - Speak now please
Chefs Rosco and DBD - Karen is a veggie and has offered to cook a mushroom risotto one night for anyone that wants it (arborio rice, mushrooms - chestnut or closed cup, parmesan, onion, garlic) with a salad - leaves, avocados etc.
Karen is also happy to do some meze type stuff - bruschetta, feta, halloumi - picky things - can probably do a wee run to pick these things up if not on the order.
Tipple for her will be loads of Aussie or New Zealand Sauvingon Blanc, plenty of diet coke - not in the same glass and as you know I will drink and eat almost anything.
I will bring along a bottle of malt as usual to continue your education and share amongst the throng.
Cheers
Billy

Hi Billy
That's 2 veggies and counting (Linz & Karen)
Meze stuff sounds lovely.
I'd definitely be up for some of that and I'm sure there would be many others too.
Is that for a particular night(s) or to go with something in particular?
We can do a small veggie chilli and veggie mexican dish too.
Can you go to tesco.com and put whatever you think might be required in the basket and then cut and paste it onto here?
e.g.
Tesco Arborio Risotto Rice 500G x 2
Tesco Everyday Value Closed Cup Mushrooms 350G x 3
Vineyards Australian Sauvignon Semillon 75Cl x 10 (hopefully not that many)
or something liike that and I'll add it to the shopping list.
I'm hoping to under buy alcohol and then top up if we need to while we are out on the Saturday or Sunday.
Cheers
Ross

Food menu sounds good, Karen's risotto also sounds lovely. I eat meat but can do without. Am happy to pitch in and help with the cooking if needed.
Please could you add a load of diet coke or diet irn bru onto the order for us too, although a few ciders/beers/ales would go down a treat as well. And I'm a bit of a coffee addict, just saying.
Not to put a dampener on things but it might be worth reminding everyone travelling north that the Scottish drink drive limit has dropped to 50mg, so we'll need to get those drinks down early

Re: Wee Mac Shopping List (Bar List) - Speak now please
Hi All,
I am veggie but don't eat mushrooms so I will work around whatever is on offer as always.
I would like lager on the list please (i will certainly need it after a day teaching and the journey up the A1 after work).
Rob would appreciate some real ales on the list please.
As myself and Ewan are in the car, I will as always be happy to do the top-up shopping on Saturday/Sunday and will fit it around our plans.
Can't wait to see you all next Friday

Re: Wee Mac Shopping List (Bar List) - Speak now please
Remind me never to go shopping with a drunk glaswegian who has been awake for 36 hours.
Job done - (well- delivery slot, breakfast, bevvy, and evening meals for Friday and half of Saturday night sorted)
Hopefully we will fix all the mistakes and add the missing ingredients before the end of this weekend.
