What are you all up to today?
First topic message reminder :
Well... I'm nosy! Spill!
As for me, I'm determined that next year's biking won't be so rubbish as this year. So I'm starting early...

So far, the innards of my helmet have been in a bowl of soapy water and are drying nicely in the airing cupboard, the battery is in the conservatory hooked up to a trickle charger in a desperate attempt to revive it, and my visors are lovely and spotless for the first time in months. I've even had a scrub of my summer boots... why oh why did I have to buy silly blingy white ones?

Re: What are you all up to today?
Currently enduring 1 direction and the extra factor with Lauren (number 1 daughter) but tomorrow it's an hour on my new bike on some GOOD roads, photo shoot with the kids on the new bike, seal the roof on the garage, buy some shelves, final motogp race of the season (come on Jorge), roast pork all the trimmings cooked by me. What Sundays were made for

Re: What are you all up to today?
As today is Armistice Day & Rememberance Day combined, I'll mostly be joining thousands of my former colleagues across the land in acts of rememberance.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say,
For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today.

Re: What are you all up to today?
Had to polish my instrument.....
....as I was playing "Last Post" and "Reveille" on it earlier today.
I'm not musical but I can get 5 notes out of a bugle
Getting them in the right order an at the right time is the hard bit.

Re: What are you all up to today?
Went for a ride, haven't been on the bike for a while - other than to take it to the spanner to work out why it was only firing on 3 cylinders. Back to 4 but was still a bit rough.
Fairly uneventful ride with the sun in my eyes (ride home was better), but it was more for the bikes sake than mine. The IPA I put in for carb icing is also a reasonable carb cleaner. Bike seems to be running better now - musn't leave it standing so long again.
Decided to track down why the heated grips aren't working - good to have them back in action.
Just have to wax treat the leathers now and then settle down to the MotoGP.

Re: What are you all up to today?
Such a nice day it seemed a shame to waste it in front of the telly, so I'll catch the MotoGP on the iPlayer later.
Went for another blast round the Cotswolds - all looks really pretty-pretty-chocolate-boxy in the autumn colours.
Came across this chap near Cleeve Hill - captions invited:

Is there anything more irritating than the fiddly little hex bolts and nuts on tax disc holders?

Yes, lining the airbox and carbs back up after you've replaced the spark plugs

Re: What are you all up to today?
Got my bike out with the intention of a ride out and it pissed down, so back into the garage and removed to grab rail while the rain passed over. Bit of a struggle but managed it eventually, rain blew over so nipped to my mates garage for him to have a look at the rear seat spacing, in doing so forgetting to put the bolts back in that secure the underseat tray to the frame so by the time I got to my mates place the tray was hanging off !! :(
So limped back home bolted it back up (no damage done thankfully) swapped the pillion strap fixing to close the under seat gap, fixed the optimate lead, put everything back together and...... It's raining again :(
So bike away (not going out and getting drenched of no reason) sat in the house now with a face on :(
Drinks tonight and a quiet night in after the football me thinks scant consolation.

Ouch but a fair cop Ellie I'll take that one on the chin though I think complete f#ckwit rather than numpty on reflection, could've been costly/nasty/both.
