What are you all up to today?
First topic message reminder :
Well... I'm nosy! Spill!
As for me, I'm determined that next year's biking won't be so rubbish as this year. So I'm starting early...

So far, the innards of my helmet have been in a bowl of soapy water and are drying nicely in the airing cupboard, the battery is in the conservatory hooked up to a trickle charger in a desperate attempt to revive it, and my visors are lovely and spotless for the first time in months. I've even had a scrub of my summer boots... why oh why did I have to buy silly blingy white ones?

Re: What are you all up to today?
Neither has mine, been swamped with work for the last three weeks.
Last run the bike got was an unplanned trip to Inverness after I forgot I needed to change the rear brake pads on the car.
By the time I remembered, all the motor factors were closed and I didn't have time to do it the next morning, before the Job.
Glad I did take it though, even though it was a Sunday, some low loaders had taken advantage of the 'light' traffic on the A9 to shift some heavy plant.
At one point I whipped past a queue of at least 150 cars doing 20mph.
I thought I'd be in bits by the time I got home, but I was ok.
(Stopped for a smoke at the House of Bruar and tooky a piccy)

Re: What are you all up to today?
Was hoping to get out today - first rain-free day in ages - but had to wait in for boiler repair man. By the time he left it was getting dark (and my bank account was £120 lighter). But at least I'm not shivering anymore.
Maybe tomorrow.....
Maybe tomorrow.....

Re: What are you all up to today?
I need to give mine a run to get the battery charged a bit, give it a wash and then park it up and remove the battery.
Prospects don't look good for the weekend though. :/
That image R2D2 fired up in the OP is a topper.

Hi it's Abi. The competition was really fun and managed to pick up a little bronze medal in the prosess, for third out of 21.
I'm feeling really proud! And so is Dad!

Re: What are you all up to today?
Congrats on the bronze, Abi!
Well I'm not long home from the garage, for the 'cat's MOT. Long story short? I'm home, but the bike isn't.
I was certain it'd fail, and fail it did. The blowing exhaust headers I already knew about, and was failed before the bike even got into the bay. New ones will be winging their way to Swindon next week. It also failed on a notch in the head race bearings and got an advisory for a squared off rear tyre :-(
One good point is that the scraping front brake, apparently, isn't a sticky calliper but just an errant pad getting stuck against the disc until there was literally no material left on the pad. Thankfully they reckon the disc is salvageable and it just needs a good clean and some new pads. Even with that bit of luck, I'm still probably looking at a £400+ bill to get the cat back.
I decided it was easier to leave it with them to sort it all out next week, and that's where it all started to go a bit arse-up. Got a taxi home, and realised that my house keys.... were clipped to my bike keys. D'OH! So, dressed in leathers, Sidis and a hoodie I walked over to the nearest cash machine, then had to get another taxi over to my office and back to fetch the spare bunch in my desk drawer. (I knew I'd get a numpty point eventually.)
And now I just need to figure out where to get the £400 I'll need to get the bike back... anyone want to buy a kidney?

Re: What are you all up to today?
Well done on tge bronze Abi, bet your dad is proud as... and so should you be
Well my boy is at a sleep over so Mrs Snowcat and I will be out for a few shandies and maybe a curry thrown on for good measure, gotta take advantage while we can.
No lie in tomorrow because (cue fanfare) I'm going to pick up the new bike, it will be bittersweet as it means I'm letting The Mistress go but as one door closes another one opens, turn the page to start the next chapter and all that, I'm certain of fun times ahead with you guys on the ride outs next year, the return to Assen and taking in a few Superbike meets with my kids.

Re: What are you all up to today?
Just got back from a gallop over some of the quicker roads in the Cotswolds to blow the cobwebs away - nearly 100 miles in just over 2 hours, non-stop.
By 'eck, it's getting chilly out there, though it stayed dry, and there wasn't too much grease and salt on the roads. But lookng west from Cleeve Hill it was distinctly grey over Wales - snow on the hills, quite possibly.
Time for a nice hot cuppa to thaw out me frozen digits.

Well today I was at work , tomorrow I am wiring up my shed/workshop , so I can finally have some power , once that's complete I get to take my brothers 125 apart to try sort his suspension, rear brake pedal , exhaust , and front indicator , because I'm nice , and he is a pain and decided to slide it around a roundabout 6 hours after buying it ,

Re: What are you all up to today?
Spoke to the garage early today. There's good news and bad news.
The good news is, I can pick my bike up at my leisure 'cause it's all sorted.
The bad news is the bill. Four hundred bloody quid! I'll be living off beans on toast for the rest of the month :-(
