Bishops Castle 4, Shropshire & Wales Rideout Saturday May 26th 2012

First topic message reminder :

An open discussion please guys & gals on who is likely to be interested in next years BC.

After much deliberation & peeps asking so they can book holidays off work, build up enough Brownie points etc a date of Saturday 26th May has been decided for BC4, There were a number of reasons for this inc avoiding Bank holidays, BC's own local events & not least 'cos its the gaffers (Ellie ) birthday on Saturday

As usual the ride will be centered around Shropshire & Wales & peeps are welcome to join for just the rideout or to B&B/camp for both the Friday & Saturday nights with food in the local hostelries which will be announced in due course.

B&B's are aplenty & most will take a booking in advance without requiring payment untill the weekend in question so its always a good idea to book early as last year it got very busy with a local wedding taking up some of the B&B's we normally use.

Below is a link to the main places to stay all within easy walking distance & please just ask if I can offer any help or advice, The Claremont also have as well as B&B a property which can be shared by a number of peeps who may wish to reduce costs by sharing & if I remember correctly a garage they have allowed us to use for the bikes in the past.

yeah, still looking, but the ones that do cheap singles are full, so far... cant justify 130 quid for just me for 2 nights :(.and i was looking forward to not being up on the campsite this year...looks like i might end up there after all

It's only 10 weeks to BC4 and it's a popular area for tourists so get your accomodation booked if your thinking of going, most of the B&B's will just swipe your card and you pay the balance when you check out.

There are places out side BC but it would be a drive/taxi journey.

I'm up for this one, although might have to be just the Saturday due to work commitments, how can I find out which route you plan to take and also times and location etc to meet up?

Not yet, The route will be finalized over Easter & the usual meeting point outside of the Boars Head pub in the centre of BC at approx 8.30am will apply. Anyone wishing to join for the day is most welcome

Ahhh maybe I should have been a little clearer John, I will b finalising the route over a pint with Radar at Easter & the meet time was actually for the proper rideout so that riders coming for the day can plan ahead, sorry for the confusion.

Just emailed foxholes for a bed in the bunkhouse Fri & Sat night.

If they got the space, i'll see y'all there

Directly opposite the Boars Head is a Texaco fuel station and small Spar shop

It's NEXT WEEKEND folks!!

Today I got the bike ready; cleaned and oiled the chain, checked the fluids, ran the satnav wiring..... put the tax disc on! It's all clean, shipshape and ready to roll.

Can we please sort this weather out now.

accu weather.com says its going to 22degrees in bc on the sat, even better on Fri for the ride up :-) sooooo exciting!

Guys do we need any bedding etc for the bunkhouse??

i.e duvet, pillows etc? I know I'll have to bring my own teddy etc.....

Yup,
Sleeping bag & pillow . . . Teddy optional . . . ear defenders recomended. . . . . Oh , a mug for tea/coffee might be a good idea

Weather now saying 19 degrees and no rain....keep your fingers crossed peeps...

If the weather holds, one of my mates might be joining us for the Saturday rideout.

I have fitted the Thundercat with a Givi rack now, so Mrs Radar will be able to bring even more stuff now!

Bunkhouse peeps, is anyone bringing coffee, sugar, milk etc or shall I? Saves everyone bringing their own

Don't believe a word AccuWeather say's, it's now saying BC 21° a few thunderstorms.

It will be what it will be and rain or shine it'll be fun.

Visor just broke taking it off to give a good clean, at least I have a spare helmet.

Got a tail tidy from BMF with indicators so will be cutting the broken bits off which by cutting away the broken parts will remove the existing indicators, so hopefully it will look good for BC.

Stroll on Friday, if weather looks good it would be nice to be in leathers.
