Bishops Castle 4, Shropshire & Wales Rideout Saturday May 26th 2012
First topic message reminder :
An open discussion please guys & gals on who is likely to be interested in next years BC.
After much deliberation & peeps asking so they can book holidays off work, build up enough Brownie points etc a date of Saturday 26th May has been decided for BC4, There were a number of reasons for this inc avoiding Bank holidays, BC's own local events & not least 'cos its the gaffers (Ellie ) birthday on Saturday
As usual the ride will be centered around Shropshire & Wales & peeps are welcome to join for just the rideout or to B&B/camp for both the Friday & Saturday nights with food in the local hostelries which will be announced in due course.
B&B's are aplenty & most will take a booking in advance without requiring payment untill the weekend in question so its always a good idea to book early as last year it got very busy with a local wedding taking up some of the B&B's we normally use.
Below is a link to the main places to stay all within easy walking distance & please just ask if I can offer any help or advice, The Claremont also have as well as B&B a property which can be shared by a number of peeps who may wish to reduce costs by sharing & if I remember correctly a garage they have allowed us to use for the bikes in the past.
Thanks Nick

If linz can get in her leathers then she will be there aswell with me,
on the back.
Date is now logged.
Count down is ticking.

Accommodation booked!
Yeah, I'm a bit early, but looks like I've missed out on the Wee Mac so..... here are the details in case anyone else is starting to look.
Claremont Guest House £30pppn
excellent location opposite The Three Tuns pub
plenty of off road parking
basic but nice and clean and a decent breakfast, stayed there last year

BOOKED
Managed to get anna on board for the trip to so we'll both be there, just booked up the last twin room at the Boars Head, seems like a good enough place and is well priced
Certainly looking forward to the ride out now
PS - sorry if anyone was after a room at the boars head......

I think the camping place is called 'Foxholes' Steve, some peeps stayed there last year, I think there's a bunk house too. I believe it's a 10 minute walk from Bishops Castle pubs etc.

Re: Bishops Castle 4, Shropshire & Wales Rideout Saturday May 26th 2012
Well I'm here, but nothing more to add that you can't get from the link ellie supplied.
Bunkhouse has six beds in two rooms (1 bunk bed & 1 x single in each).
£10 per bed per night. It's warm dry and a place to lay yer weary head after a days good riding (or an evenings decent drinking ).
There's an electric kettle in the bunkhouse, so I'd recommend taking a mug, spoon and some instant drinks (tea/coffee/cuppa soups etc.).
Abloutions are good and kept clean & tidy.
A B&B is luxury in comparison but the dosh savings are well worth it if you view it purely as a place to get your head down.
Cheers
Oh yeah - Take a torch for the cross-country trip home to the camp site from the evenings entertainment in BC

Re: Bishops Castle 4, Shropshire & Wales Rideout Saturday May 26th 2012
Claremont is now fully booked.
I have only booked the Saturday as I have a friend near Worcester and am planning to ride there on the Friday and stop overnight.
Hope the rest of you get booked in somewhere. Do suggest you start getting it booked soon.

The site is in walking distance of the pubs and has a bunkhouse.

There are more B&B's than those listed in the original link, a quick Google will flick some more up
