Bishops Castle 4, Shropshire & Wales Rideout Saturday May 26th 2012
First topic message reminder :
An open discussion please guys & gals on who is likely to be interested in next years BC.
After much deliberation & peeps asking so they can book holidays off work, build up enough Brownie points etc a date of Saturday 26th May has been decided for BC4, There were a number of reasons for this inc avoiding Bank holidays, BC's own local events & not least 'cos its the gaffers (Ellie ) birthday on Saturday
As usual the ride will be centered around Shropshire & Wales & peeps are welcome to join for just the rideout or to B&B/camp for both the Friday & Saturday nights with food in the local hostelries which will be announced in due course.
B&B's are aplenty & most will take a booking in advance without requiring payment untill the weekend in question so its always a good idea to book early as last year it got very busy with a local wedding taking up some of the B&B's we normally use.
Below is a link to the main places to stay all within easy walking distance & please just ask if I can offer any help or advice, The Claremont also have as well as B&B a property which can be shared by a number of peeps who may wish to reduce costs by sharing & if I remember correctly a garage they have allowed us to use for the bikes in the past.
Thanks Nick

Re: Bishops Castle 4, Shropshire & Wales Rideout Saturday May 26th 2012
Where do I start... Klitkat I prefer your alter ego and I'm surprised the lurgy is the only thing Ross caught from you
Ross great to meet you it was a pleasure to see you two wheeled camper van in the flesh, (where were the maps, the east wing??)
Ellie I know you weren't that impressed with your birthday but you held the group together well where Nick frankly wasn't up to the job and hearty congrats on the new job
Nick thanks for the weekend, the roads were brilliant, really enjoyed it all despite a few "incidents" which are better best forgotten though we should all try to learn from them. If that is what I have to look forward to I can't wait for many more ride outs with this fantastic group of people
Chris & Kev I really enjoyed the ride down and don't worry my wife didn't re decorate or go shoe shopping
Oldcat, El Tel it was a pleasure to meet the leg end and you and all involved deserve a big old round of applause for putting together and keeping together this fantastic forum and bunch of people
Littlecat, Cath it was great to share some stories and also look forward to meeting up again down Derbyshire way and tearing it up
Stevecat sterling job you did at the back keeping us all in line and great to chat about the old shite people are too quick to forget about IMO
DaiSan for carrying on from when I first met you at J & S and stepping up to help a fellow biker in need, genuinely a nice bloke and I ain't just saying that.
Anna it was great to meet you, you scared me a bit on that corner but you were great. Sterling job finding us that bit of shade under that tree while the "Johnny No Miles" kept us waiting at the petrol station. Hope I get to meet you again at another outing.
I've not intentionally left anyone out because it was a pleasure to meet each and everyone of you and you all made a difference just by being there. Plus I'm a bit shy and it takes me a while to get to know people so 15+ was a big ask
I hope everyone had as good a weekend as I did and any incidents can be quickly learned from and then forgotten so we can all reflect on the fact that this was nothing more than a bloody good weekend out on the bikes and socialising with some bloody nice people.
Despite the troubles it still goes down as the best weekend I've had as a biker, and one of the best times I've had in a while.
Oh and my wife appears to have the lurgy, hope klitcat hasn't been round

Re: Bishops Castle 4, Shropshire & Wales Rideout Saturday May 26th 2012
Thanks from me, too, to everyone who organised the ride on Saturday, and to those who played a supporting role. I had a really brilliant day's riding (truly stunning route, whatever the weather) and I met people I'd really like to stay in touch with, and see again on future ride outs, if you'll let me back.
Me and the Cat have not a scratch, though one of us emerged a little wiser, and the other now has a working brake light (been dodgy for a while) and indicator. I don't want to dwell on it but do want to say sorry to leaders/ organisers for making your day less fun, and to everyone else for the unwelcome distraction.
Ellie, congrats on the new job!

Really great to see old friends and meet new ones, cant wait to do it again....have to say a big thankyou to my mate john for fixing my cornering on friday night, tho i have a sneaking suspicion it might be his lurgy we are all suffering with.
Big congratz on the new job Ellie.
Also massive thanks to everyone ...and glad everyones in one piece.

I'm thinking there was a bit too much bonding on the Saturday night as I'd left by then and seem the only one not affected by the BC Bug. Things must have got out of hand.... Coincidence?? I think not

Just like to mention aswell that me or Linz don't have any form of illnesses from the weekend.
Even though Linz wasnt at the meet, she's bug free.
How's the Duke now Dave being as you can give it a wee bit more of a twist of the throttle?
Ross, I'll bring you the brake and clutch levers to the Ireland trip, that Tony has got for you. Many thanks again for being the 'spares' guy.
Think its safe to say that was the best Bishops Castle rideout to date. Just dont get lost for Ideas on how to improve next years meet as that will be a tuffy.
All the best to you all.
Rob.

Dave, Rob says he's very glad to hear that and it will be nice to compare power outputs (obviously your's is more powerful) but will be good to compare in the flesh.
He can't work out if he rode faster being one up at BC as he is used to riding 2 up but Ireland will give him the chance to answer that more than likely.
Have fun with the new bike

He says that's fine but to warn you that the R1 has got sports touring tyres on (not that it stops him from going fast even two up)

I beg to differ. He didn't even have a Daytona foot peg. Tut.
