First topic message reminder :
Here's a list of those who've expressed interest or confirmed they will be joining the ToL this year. :whoop:
If you wish to be added to the list please post up in the main ToL thread.
This is the venue - the same as last year.
I have booked all 8 twin rooms for the Friday and Saturday nights. A deposit of £12.50 per person will secure a bed for the two nights, or £25 to secure a room. The full cost is £36 pppn B&B
Unfortunately if the you can't make it and I can't re-let the place then I won't be able to refund the deposit - venue rules I'm afraid.
That said, I hope places will be over-subscribed. If that happens I'll post up details of local B&B's - there are several. So far several are staying at The Claremont Guest House
Here is a link to camp sites in Woodhall Spa - Woodhall Country Park Camp Site is closest (next door) and being used by some members.
The venue has an excellent restaurant and they have provisionally booked us 16 places for each night. Please let me know if you want me to book you in for dinner. The place is popular so I will have to confirm numbers several weeks before and you will need to pre-order your food. Special diet options are available.
If there are any mistakes in the table below my apologies, but please let me know.
Cheers,
Chris

Wait for the guy with the orange bib on!
Well everyone, thanks for another memorable weekend!
Sorting it out has been fun, but if no one attended it would be a complete waste of time. And it certainly wasn't that!
A brief explaination of the marker system was given at the start of the day. Many of us have ridden this system before and there were lots of sagely nods when asking if everyone understood. Of course once underway if it can go wrong it will go wrong and, boy, did it go wrong! Less than 50 mins into the day and here's the effect the group had had on our poor back marker.
Enjoy!
It certainly lightened up my day whilst wondering where the heck everyone had gone.
Be warned contains colourful language.

Maybe a bright RED Shirt Next time?
as per all the other other postings, thanks to you all.
If there were not any moments like Mechy or Supernaut then there would be no tails to tell. I am sure this will be chuckled about in future meetings for years to come.
For me it was still very successfull. At the end of the day everyone enjoyed it and everyone got back safe. well done.

Re: ToL 2011 Sign up
I had a great day, good to meet a few people again and also some new faces. The ride home was good (don't know how much longer I could have used the clutch though, hand was cramping up). Roads in Staffordshire were wet but I missed the actual rain.
Only made one wrong turn, in Grantham this time (not like bloody Sleaford, that place is a nightmare ).
Looking forward to the next rideout I can attend, I enjoy riding with you guy's immensely, just the right mix of riders for my taste, I can cruise or join the quick guy's n gal's depending on how I feel.
Thanks to everyone involved in organising this, great job

Re: ToL 2011 Sign up
A super afternoon meeting new and old peeps.
Just a chuffing long way home after you all went back to the hotel.
Plus I found out the "ipod" left at the Locks pub was my bloody sat nav! So I had to guess the way home.
Then the fresh chicken breasts I asked the daughter to get became a whole chicken so the curry i had dreamed of all the way home ended up been a haslet sarni. Doh!
Thanks to Chris & everyone else who made the day so special.

Me and Teddy would like to say , that some minor irritations aside i had a great rideout ,and saw some roads i have never seen , met friends i havent seen for a long while.
Would just like to say big thankyou to Chris, who did a fantastic job under some very stressful times, only getting the bike back the day before the rideout!!, Nige and Tel for the reccie ride and teddy for being there for me
I didnt think at times i would do the ride but thanks to a very understanding wife and help from someone (you know who you are), must admit the yellow van rideout reccie the weekend before was a good laugh !!!!!!!
Hope to see you all at some point , and hope to be at B C ,
pete

Re: ToL 2011 Sign up
bike fixed.
front brake lever-£25
foot peg-£54 ( comes in four bits?)
bar end-£14
second hand standard exhaust-£79
metal plate heat shield-£8
£172-plus postage and vat-£222.-ouch!
could have done without that!
If you snap your foot peg try and take all the bits with you as if they're anything like the hornets they come in four parts, the main metal peg, rubber, a metal plate that goes inside the rubber with a tapped hole and the "scratch" peg underneath which comes seperately and screws in. Thats not to mention the spring, screw ( to hold rubber in ) and split pin all of which I either kept or had at home, thankfully.
thanks to everyone who helped with running repairs at the viaduct and a seperate mention to John for his velcro thingy which held the temporary peg in place, I'll be keeping those with my tool kit, as good as zip ties only re-useable!
just left with a graze and a couple of small scratches on the tank, some paint took off the right hand engine casing and a bit of paint off the front rim, all of which will touch up when I can get round to it.
All in all £222 hurts but it could have been far worse. Got away lightly and not a scratch on me!

Whose very understanding wife was it Pete?
You are very welcome for my help.......I'll send you the bill for the counselling services?
Glad you go away without a scratch Steve and although three little ducks is a lot of money......It could have been a lot more.supernaut wrote:
