BC 8 - The Welsh Beast 10th-12th June 2016.

First topic message reminder :

Hi Folks,

It's that time of year again, to pencil in the BC dates for 2016.

This year we have secured all 19 beds at a lovely Motorcycle orientated B&B called Bikers retreat in Dolgellau, Mid Wales, run by Nigel & Tiv, two fellow bikers. It's a place I have been considering for the last couple of years.

The beds range from £39 - £45 per person per night B&B for doubles, twins and triples (all en-suite) and one single with a private bathroom.

Deposit is paid direct to the B&B and is £30 per person, the phone number is 01341 423192, please mention Nick Shuker as it's booked in my name.

There is a bar with local beer and lagers and a bar menu, I will be visiting over the winter to establish what's best for the group with eating arrangements.

There is secure bike parking behind gates, a drying room for wet gear, and a workshop with tools and Nigel is very helpful and knowledgeable apparently.

There will be other accommodation available in the area, if required.

If you want to PM me where you're up to with the route I may be able to do some more investigative work this w'end but, with regard to the roads, I don't think there are many bad ones in Wales - I can't seem to find any!

It would be a desktop exercise - have an exciting weekend planned painting guttering and downpipes so no time to play unfortunately.

Looks like I can make this trip now after all! Just spoken to Nigel at the bikers retreat and he's quoting £47 for the double ppm

Mandy and are the ones who had to pull out. The owner of the hotel said if anybody takes our room they could the deposit to us rather than to them, which was decent of him

Rather gutted we can't join you all, but Mandys' mother is very ill and has been in hospital for over 2 months now. She wont be able to go home and they have found a nursing home for her. She moves in on Fiday and Mandy obviously needs to be there to support her Mom

Won't be the same without you both there. Tony and Mandy. It's the people that make a ride out.

Here is the menu for Friday Guys, Last orders at 7pm but Nigel & Tiv will try to be a little flexible on the time if arriving around then, if arriving later it may be worth looking at alternative arrangements.

Ok Guys, bit last minute but they have asked if we can give meal choices for tomorrow now, you should have had an email (check your junk boxes?)
Food looks lovely but is a little more pricey than I had hoped, looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow, ride safely as the weather isn't looking over pleasant.

Is the plan we're all eating together Nick or just as and when we're there, ready etc?

We are aiming to eat together at 7.30ish, latecomers will be catered for up to an hour later I'm told, it's pretty casual mate.
