Big Mac Travel Arrangements
Hi All
FAO the crew staying at mine - I'm not on holiday on the Thursday so if you can be at mine no earlier than 6.30pm on Thursday 6th August.
So can Stevecat, Krusty, Robcat & Cards (and all your missus'ses) organise yourselves if you want to travel up en-masse if that suits.
Heading off from mine (Shotts) on the Friday morning after breakfast probably about 9.30 for 10.00 departure as we need to check in at 5pm or could lose the rooms
Charlie, James - Do you want to meet us at mine, en-route or just up there?
Terry, Tim, John - Probably see you up there (unless you're having an early start) but you can let us know if you might be meeting us.
Jacarutu, Furballs, Dave - See you all on Lewis/Harris on the Saturday (is that right?)
ps. DON'T FORGET YOUR FERRY TICKETS!!!!!!! (or let me forget mine!)
Cheers
Rosco

Come on Scotland!!
Hi all.
We'll be settling off all depending on the weather. If it lightly rains then we'll set off in the afternoon and make a bee line straight to your house. If weather is nice and cheerful (as if!!) then we'll have a plod over to the lake district and make a day of it.
So we shall see folk, either on the way up somewhere or at your house Ross.
Ride safe dood's!!

all dependent on me managing to change my rear wheel bearing on thursday morning
i've got Very intermittent net access at the moment so bear with me if i don't rwspond to anything for a few days. ross has got my moby number, might be more reliable to tezt me

Re: Big Mac Travel Arrangements
Pete,
A rather 'round about ' route. 400 miles just over 7 hours riding time.
A617, A46 (Lincoln), A15 (Scunthorpe), A18 (Thorne), A614 (East Cowick), A1041 (Sanith / Selby), A63 (Barlby), A19 (Fulford), A64 (Copmanthorpe), A1237 (York), A59 (Skipton), A65 (M6), A590, A591 (Keswick), A66 (Workington), A596,A595 (Carlile, A7, A72, A721 ....
There are shorter routes to some of the major towns, we can see how we feel or how we are doing time wise and take a more direct route if need be. I haven't worked in where it would be best to stop - sort the route first then plan that.
I have another route from Thirsk, Northallerton, Faverdale, Fir Tree, Wolsingham, Brampton Longtown, Selkirk, .. which I plan on doing on the return leg, but could look at it outbound

The time is near....
Well, the weather so far looks to be exeptable for the bike to have a wonder up north on. We are kinda easy for a setting off time ourselves and not really planned the route as of yet, but of top of my head i did this. Was looking to a more direct route up to the lake district. Prob be A1, upto Wetherby, catch the A661 to Harrogate then head onto the A59 then onto the A65 at Skipton and follow that route to Kendal - Windermere - Keswick - A591 - A595 - Carlisle. Slip back onto the M6 until the turn off for Dumfries - A702 - A72 - A70 - A721 - A706 - B715 - Ross's house.
Dont know the mileage (about 300 miles) but will definately have a sore arse by the time we get to Ross's house. Timewise, 8-9 hours including stop off's for fuel - snap - Stretch of the legs - stoppings by the plod and so on and forth.
What does you think of all that stuff then Pete and Steve??

Nah Rob, you don't have to worry about plod stoppings .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. I'm not with you this timeRobcat wrote: - stoppings by the plod and so on and forth.
Pc Plod!!
Dont worry my friend, i dont possess a blue head lamp cover.
Have you still got yours, that expensive 1 that cost you £30 after just 5 mins of riding from your house to Germany???
Not be riding that quickly anyway as i'll be luggaged up to the hilt on the bike anyway. Mainly Linz's clothes would you believe, with the hair straighteners and so on and forth.
