Surf and Turf Arrangements
Hi everyone,
So, S&T is almost upon us :whoop:
I've PM'd everyone who is coming my mob number in case you need to get in touch with me for any reason, could I ask anyone who is coming along on the Sat morning to send me a text on the Thurs or Fri so we don't leave without you. Thanks
The meeting point is the Marton Arms car park, Thornton-in-Lonsdale just off the A-65. We need to meet on the Saturday morning at 08:45 fully fuelled so we can set off before 9.
The nearest petrol station to the meeting point is in Ingleton, here:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Sorry to be a bit pedantic about the times and petrol but we are tied into our lunch booking so we really do need to be heading off sharpish in the morning, otherwise there will be tears by 1 o'clock (mostly mine )
Lunch at Masham is booked for 12:30 ( [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ), I'll be posting up a menu in a day or so. The bistro has said if we can advance order it would be much appreciated. They are going to be pretty busy, as it is the Masham Sheep Fair!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Sheep Fair
Masham Market Place
Sheep Show, Sheep Racing, Craft Market, Bishop Blaize Procession, Harvest Flowers, Morris Dancers, Tours of Theakstons & Black Sheep Breweries, Old Time Children's Fair, Fleece Stalls, Sheepdog Demonstrations, Hand Spun Wool Competition, Hand Bell Ringers, Art Exhibition,
and much much more...
Sheep Racing???
So we could have a wee walk round town after lunch if people want, to see what all the fuss is about.
Anyway, really looking forward to seeing you all there. :drunken:
Chris

Masham Sheep Fair! ......... You can take a man out of Aberdeen but you can't take Aberdeen out the man I see.
Seriously....I'm really looking forward to this one whether you've organised lap dancing or not

Indeed! You can take a man out of Aberdeen but you can't take Aberdeen out the man
I do have a worry that this may be a temptation too far for some
Dread to think what the headlines (or photos!) are gonna be after a pack of bikers descend on the local sheep fair
Should be entertaining

Re: Surf and Turf Arrangements
Here's the lunch menu, if we could get as many orders in as possible before Friday that would be great. I'll collate them all in an e-mail to the Bistro around Friday lunchtime.
I recommend any of the "Black Sheep Favourites". A bit pricey for lunch but well worth it. I'll be having Steak and Riggwelter Ale Casserole

Re: Surf and Turf Arrangements
Now that's what I call a menu!
Gonna stick with the tried and tested Snake and Ale pie - a popular choice by the looks of things.
Nothing too twisty after lunch please....... but there again a wee walk might help and it would be a shame not to take advantage of the fine Dales roads
The weekend can't come soon enough
Thanks for arranging all this Chris, a wee dram has your name on it.

Hi MevsyD,
John (Pan Euro) has unfortunately had to drop out of this weekend so there is a bed going spare in one of the twin rooms at the pub if you want?

Sorry that John had to drop out but I'll take advantage of the situation and claim the bed if that's alright? I'll get there a little earlier on Sat so if possible someone will let me throw my rucksack into their room until after the ride... Much appreciated.

Nah, not paired anyone yet, you've got your pick of Terry, Greencat or MevsyD!
I thought we could wait and see what like the rooms are first coz I know one of the twins has one camp bed instead of two proper beds.
First come, first served
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that there are no cock-ups in the accommodation department
