Re: Giving biking up for a while!
Gutted to hear this Kev !
Doesn't excuse you from BC, ToL, Big & Wee Mac (and other diverse event) socials or your forum input though !!! (some people will do almost anything )
I can empathise with the pains killing your enjoyment of our favourite pastime. Hope you can find a solution and get back to riding real soon.
Cheers

Hi Kev,
Awwwwh , I'm sorry to hear this. You love your biking!
And you've been a great companion on the rides into BC, so I hope this is just temporary for you and you take Oldcat's advice and continue to stay online and join us for the meets if you can.
Keep in touch. Hope you can get some improvement soon
Chris

Re: Giving biking up for a while!
Bad news.
Mate of mine was an instructor and he had to jack it all in completely due to back probs on the bike (hasn't been on an m/c in seven years), hopefully you won't be as bad as that.

Re: Giving biking up for a while!
I can imagine that has not been an easy decision to make. All the best and hope its only a temporary thing for you mate.

Re: Giving biking up for a while!
Sorry to hear mate
Hope it sorts itself out and you're back on the correct number of wheels before too long. Keep seeing you at the do's though we hope?

Re: Giving biking up for a while!
Sorry to hear this Kev.
Hope your back mends well and soon.
My wife and I have had problems with our backs.
She likes to pay a chiropractor money on a regular basis. Which gets my back up tbh. I've tried them and they just seem to want you in a long term care package. I.e paying them to work a 3 day week.
I've used an osteomyologist (bit of a catch all group) who is based in Larkhall.
He is quite expensive (but well worth it) but treatment is normally one or possibly two visits.
My most recent visit was after I sneezed and put a muscle into spasm in my back. It affected my posture and I couldn't stand or walk normally.
He pinpointed the muscles and worked on them.
It felt like he was just applying pressure (not excessive) to release the spasm.
After that the self treatment (as recommended) was volterol on the affected area 4 times a day and keeping it warm....(not heat spray / cream though), got water bottle etc.
I've got an electric kidney belt / lower back support that I used.
Good luck.

Re: Giving biking up for a while!
Is that Michael Colligan?
I've used him myself when I worked for Brinks.
Humphing bags of coin in and out of banks for years had got me all lopsided and one session with him sorted it right out.
(He recommended Voltarol to me as well )

Re: Giving biking up for a while!
It certainly is Allan.
My brother in law recommended him to me.
He hobbled out his house into a taxi and couldn't sit in the seat - he had to lie on the back seat.
When the same taxi driver picked him up he just walked out and jumped into the taxi.
The taxi driver was convinced Jesus was working there.

That massage pad he uses completely liquidises your spine. It's excellent.

Ah mate sorry to hear that! Well hopefully having a car over the winter will help you heal up nice just in time for that spring buzz. And of course bc will only be just around the corner then!
