Bike hire around Edinburgh
First topic message reminder :
Since Hilary and I will be flying to Edinburgh for the WeeMac we'll need to hire bikes in the area.
Some Google-ing got me these options so far...
BMW Motorcycle Rental
Saltire Suzuki
Kircaldy Kawasaki
Anything else out there?

Re: Bike hire around Edinburgh
The sister shop in Kirkaldy is closer (someone mentioned them earlier), and they do ER-6F's for £60 a day (-10% on hires of 3 to 5 days)

I know a few lads who run ER-6N's (£50 per day) and they love them.
If the trams are up and running by then, it could be a nice tram/train ride from the airport via Waverly and over the Forth Bridge.

Re: Bike hire around Edinburgh
yip agree, but do you really think the trams will be up and running !! you can catch a num 747 bus from airport to Inverkeithing then get the train from there to kirkcaldy, you would then have to jump in a taxi up to bike shop as its a bit far to walk from the station.

Re: Bike hire around Edinburgh
They're supposed to be up and running by the end of the year, but you're right. They'll probably stop the week after for 'routine maintenance'.

Re: Bike hire around Edinburgh
Yep, the ER-6's look good and I guess hiring those will be the least hassle with insurance and all.
Have been in touch with them already and they would even offer pick up service from the airport. Once we got the flights booked I'll probably book those bikes for us and that should be us sorted then.
Again thanks so much for the kind offers of lending us your bikes but I think with the insurance situation it's probably easier this way

Re: Bike hire around Edinburgh
Cool.
It probably would be far less hassle on the insurance and breakdown cover side of things.
Nice of them to offer a pickup for you both as well.
