Taste of Lincolnshire 2013
First topic message reminder :
The Taste of Lincolnshire Rideout 2013 will take place on 7th September 2013
This is the 10th annual Lincolnshire rideout
For 2013 we return to The Village Limits at Woodhall Spa.
Cost is ₤40 pppn B&B.
The accommodation and food are great!
I have reserved 4 twin rooms for the Friday and Saturday nights.
If you want to reserve a place please post up or send me a PM.
Please see the separate Sign Up page for details of who's coming and where they're staying.
There are more rooms available at The Village Limits and there's B&B, camping and caravan accommodation in Woodhall Spa.
Here's some alternative accommodation, there are many more places to stay in Woodhall Spa:
B&B accommodation:
The Claremont Guest House
The PitchAway B&B
The Vale Guest House
Hotels:
The Petwood Hotel
The Golf Hotel
Self catering accommodation:
The HideAway
Camping, Caravaning & 'Sky' lodges:
Woodhall Country Park
Petwood Caravan Park
The route has been drafted, but this year will be entirely within Lincolnshire.
200miles of Lincolnshire's finest roads and quite a few hills! Believe it or not there are some parts we still haven't visited!
We'll also visit some interesting places and invite you to have a real taste of Lincolnshire and sample the local food.
Tastes of Lincolnshire is the marketing campaign for food producers in Lincolnshire. Now, if you do an image search on Google you'll find pictures of food and plenty of pictures of bikes and site members on previous Taste of Lincolnshire rideouts!
Hope to see you on the 6/7th.
Cheers,
Greencat (Chris)

Re: Taste of Lincolnshire 2013
There are hills I'll have you know.
Look! I found two....
But the lack of inclines is made up for by the abundance of superb roads.

Lethal they are, I nearly lost my pillion first time in Lincs flying over some of them
Ellie, that second picture is what I'm worried about - my legs still haven't recovered from BC, own fault really keeping up with people half my age and weight.

Re: Taste of Lincolnshire 2013
Woodall Spas fairly flat Steve, you'll be fine lol. If not there are taxi's, you just need to book them 3 months in advance! And a bus service that runs once a week!

The hill question was asked 'tongue in cheek' ~ ~ should have used
Good for a bit of banter tho', thanks for confirming mountains haven't started to appear - seen quite a few of them lately, sorry Chris for hijacking your thread

Re: Taste of Lincolnshire 2013
No problem Steve.
Good to see some posts on the thread.
I'm away at the min, but will post some more details of the event next week. Thanks to all who have expressed an interest in attending I look forward to welcoming you to Lincolnshire.
Steve - I'll see if we can arrange a scooter to transfer you from cabin to bar and back again. There are enough wealthy retirees in Woodhall Spa for you to end up with quite a posh ride. Just hope they don't notice it's gone before I get it back!
Ellie - thanks for taking on the role of Marketing Manager, the cheques in the post
Route to be finalised, but it will make full use of the available hills, and the bits in between will be pretty good too!
Chris

Re: Taste of Lincolnshire 2013
Most kind of you Chris, thanks Would it be too much to ask if it was owned by a wealthy widow? Looking at my retirement options, and it'll sort out the issue of getting it back before it's noticed it's missinggreencat wrote: There are enough wealthy retirees in Woodhall Spa for you to end up with quite a posh ride. Re: Taste of Lincolnshire 2013
ToL Update
Dinner has been booked 14 for the Sat night at 7:30.
They will email me their specials as soon as they are available and I'll post it up here.
We need to pre-order our food a couple of days before the 7th.
Twin rooms are still available at the venue. £40 pppn B&B
Please call to make your booking and mention you're joining the 'MEAD' party!
I've not made any plans for the Friday night (6th).
Indian/Chinese was suggested, but this will require a taxi or ride into town. Or we can remain at the venue.
I guess this depends when folk are arriving?
What would you prefer to do?

Re: Taste of Lincolnshire 2013
What time do people normally arrive? and where is the usual meeting point (pub) if there is one?
I think me and Alleycat and possibly helmet Dave will most likely arive mid-late afternoon and get set up at the campsite. We will most likely want to venture out for food so will be open to suggestions if people want to meet and eat somewhere.
Cheers

Re: Taste of Lincolnshire 2013
Getting closer.
Last day a job today, starting New Job on Monday. Earlier than originally planned but Saturday is still a go.
Have put a set of Iridium plugs in the other night, and although I can say there are more horses it definately fires better.
What else can I get done with the Redundancy loot before ToL - Drift HD720 Camera's are on offer for £99 at the mo, guess I would have to point it backwards to film you guys tho!
