Hi All

Dirt Bike Dave has bullied me into putting up the dates and details for Big Mac 2013 and here they are

Venue - OBAN - West coast of Scotland

Accommodation

As with previous years we are looking to book hostel accommodation and SYHA Oban is one of the best Hostels SYHA has to offer.

Unfortunately due to the time of year we want to book we need to get our skates on to get this booked up.

Accommodation is likely to be dorms (bunk beds) for 4, 6 or 8.

We've worked out it will be £80 for hostel stay for 3 nights
This will include cost of (self-catering) breakfast and whatever is left over will contribute to evening meals / drinks etc.

Do you wanna stay in the hostel - Friday 2nd August for 3 nights?

For folks wishing to stay in the hostel - looking for commitment by the end of this month (Feb 2013) and £20 deposit paid 1st week in March.

A further £20 deposit 1st June and the final payment (£40) 1st July.

Staying at the hostel isn't compulsory and folks are free to sign up for the rideout and sort their own accommodation.

Subject to availability & numbers and we may be able to add people at a later date but the earlier you can commit the better as there are limited spaces.

I'll set up a Master List soon.

Dirt Bike Dave is doing a recce soon so will leave the finer details in his culpable capable hands.

All paid up and very much looking forward to this. I will ride up on the Friday but can't do the Sunday rideout as need to be back at work on the Monday... Now got to decide if I bring the ace or the r1..

Take the R1.....roads are built for R1!!!...trust me..unless your going 2 up...even so...Take the R1...lol

DBD's boots are easy to fill - He's only a size 5. (Same as my 8 year old - who incidentally is nearly as tall and can ride Panigale's just as good (albeit on the xbox))

Hi All

Apologies for not putting this up sooner.

If anyone wants to stop over at mine on the way to Oban (and/or) the way back. (Thursday night / Monday night) then please let me know.

I'm off work Friday / Monday (that reminds me I'll need to chase that up tomorrow morning) as it hasn't been confirmed yet.

We've a bit of space indoor with beds and inflatable beds and can setup camp outside if required.

Please PM me if you are interested.

We can arrive from 2 pm onwards at the youth hostel on the Friday.

Depending on numbers and if anyone wants to meet en-route I expect to leave about noon to get there about 3 ish.

Eddie990/Atholl123/Byron, what sort of tank ranges have you guys got so i can organise fuel stops for Sunday??

Don't think it will be a problem, but better safe than sorry..

PS: DBD you will know what Atholl + Byron are riding

Update.......Unfortunately Bob's brother Pete has double-booked with a family event and can now no longer attend.

Which means we have another space that is up for grabs.

It would be great if both DBD's and Bobs space can be filled but I NEED to know asap otherwise I have to cancel them to try and get some money back.

Anyone got any friends they want to bring along?

quicks question/idea.. as the Oban distillery is but a stones throw from the base for BM, might there be a chance for a trip/tour round? maybe on the monday or one of the other days if the weather does a nasty on us?

Unfortunatley I will be heading back down sarf on the Sunday but hey ho.. I'll have to settle for a couple on the Fri/Sat night..

Cannae do Monday Dave, it's a looooooong way south and I'm flying to Shetland on Tuesday so will be heading off early doors on Mon morn.
Might be persuaded to pop in on Fri/Sat though.....

google Oban distillery, if you are there early enough on the friday you could make a trip round it, £30 for a 1 hour and 15 mins trip round
