Dirt Bike Dave has bullied me into putting up the dates and details for Big Mac 2013 and here they are

Venue - OBAN - West coast of Scotland

Accommodation

As with previous years we are looking to book hostel accommodation and SYHA Oban is one of the best Hostels SYHA has to offer.

Unfortunately due to the time of year we want to book we need to get our skates on to get this booked up.

Accommodation is likely to be dorms (bunk beds) for 4, 6 or 8.

We've worked out it will be £80 for hostel stay for 3 nights
This will include cost of (self-catering) breakfast and whatever is left over will contribute to evening meals / drinks etc.

Do you wanna stay in the hostel - Friday 2nd August for 3 nights?

For folks wishing to stay in the hostel - looking for commitment by the end of this month (Feb 2013) and £20 deposit paid 1st week in March.

A further £20 deposit 1st June and the final payment (£40) 1st July.

Staying at the hostel isn't compulsory and folks are free to sign up for the rideout and sort their own accommodation.

Subject to availability & numbers and we may be able to add people at a later date but the earlier you can commit the better as there are limited spaces.

I'll set up a Master List soon.

Dirt Bike Dave is doing a recce soon so will leave the finer details in his culpable capable hands.

Hi All.

We've got 16 spaces booked, group membership and deposit paid which gives us exclusive use of our rooms.

So as it stands we've got 14 people committed in paying their deposit to me or have accepted Wonga style terms at the bank of rosco.
One definite maybe and one space up for grabs.

Any takers?

Wouldn't be right me not doing Scotland two years in a row, might lose my entry permit
Will do an electronic non-Wonga thingy with the deposit as soon as the ink dries

Just a wee update....FYI the routes involve 2 ferry crossings...1 on each day (different ferry's).....Total cost for your budgets for both ferry crossings will be £15.10...(Sat one is £8.40 and Sun on is £6.70) for bike and rider...those 2 up will add an extra £4.20 for the sat one...Sun one passengers are free....
Hoping to get up to Oban on saturday for a wee recce and a look at our accomm, will post up more as i find out..

We're up to 17 folks staying at the hostel.

ONE space has become available.

Looking to fill this in the the next couple of weeks otherwise I'll need to cancel the space and lose a %age of the deposit to SYHA.

If I leave it longer to cancel then we need to pay more.

There still might be more spaces available regardless so if you want more spaces I can enquire for you.

Well I'm afraid it is looking highly unlikely I will be home now for BM. If anyone wishes my slot in the accommodation then you are welcome to take it.
Gutted to say the least, I'm afraid my work rota has changed at the last minute and ill not be home in time.

Bloody ell Dave, that's a proper bummer that is, perhaps you'll be able to make S&T to make up for it.

Hopefully ill make either TOL or SnT now as I was due to miss both before my rota slipped. Major Visa issues at work are making our Rotas change all the time. Been home 8 weeks on full pay so can't really argue I suppose. Still a pain. Was really looking forward to BM this year!!

Aaw Dave, that's pants - gutted you're not gonna be there, but as you say, hopefully you'll be home for TOL or S'n'T seeing as they're changing all your rotas about.  You never know... they might do yet another last minute change and free you up!!  Hope to catch up with you soon
