Binned my Cat
First topic message reminder :
It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you I have come off the Cat.
While on a rideout in Snake pass I hit a bit of oil on one of the bends near the end on the down hill section. The back wheel lost grip and the bike went for a low side but then decided to grip and flip, I was sent flying and stopped just short of the Armco. The Cat was not so luck and hit the Armco hard with the top of the bike. :(
I just don't have the words to express how gutted I am.

Re: Binned my Cat
I know what your saying but sitting around relaxing makes it worse, keeping focused on something helps get through the aches. Now given into pier pressure and have Doctors later today.SteveCat wrote:Sorry to hear of your off John, take it easy could take a few days for bruising or places you'd never dream could hurt to start.
SteveCat wrote:If you'd like an offline version of the parts fiche, have a look in my download area - there's a parts listing there. I can't remember if it has your colour code in there, could make life easier if it did - you could always get the parts and make a red bike
Yep I would, color doesn't matter as she will be resprayed. She will have a slightly different scheme when she's reborn, only slightly. Are you referring to your BT Download area?

Re: Binned my Cat
When they offered mine back to me plus a pay out, I was really chuffed with the deal, it was more than I expected. if I'd protested it would have meant quite a lot of hassle.
Nick advised me to not let them take it away which I didn't as he said you don't always get the chance to buy it back, and once it's gone, it's gone.

Re: Binned my Cat
Doc's given the all clear but looked at me funny and said you didn't break anything? Incredible!
Anyway the examinination was more detailed than expected with rotation of joint, how much pressure I could excert right down to toes and fingers, then we got to where abouts does it hurt and when he suddenly pressed on the bruising on my right leg the air turned blue! He said I have an impressive hematoma (don't know if spelt right) that will look even more impressive over the coming week!
The bike will be collected this afternoon and I am going to take the tax disc out before they take it and my tools under the seat as still not sure if it will come back, will wait to see the report of damage before making my final descision.

Bike has gone. Having her out again in good daylight has highlighted more damage so she will not be resurrected I afraid. :(

Re: Binned my Cat
The tank has crease in it and the backend looks like it hit harder than I realised so I will be surprised if it doesn't come out that the frame has twisted, it just looks too much work that will be beyond me and with the very limited space i have, so I am resided to moving on.

The Samsung is a Blade. Not going the Thousand route yet, going up a few cc's and toward a more sportier bike but it is a good few months away so not saying.

Re: Binned my Cat
I can recommend a cracking bike in the shape of a 650 Daytona, but then I would, wouldn't I?!

As for the replacement machine with a few more cubes (but not a thou)Dictionary wrote:he·ma·to·ma/ˌhēməˈtōmə/Noun: A solid swelling of clotted blood within the tissues.

675 Daytona ?
GSXR 750 ?

Kwaker Z750 ?
Yam FZ8 ?
Re: Binned my Cat
I'm not going to tell, the government might mess things up between now and April so that i don't get what I need out if the sale of the house to be able to afford another bike, let alone the one I would like.

Heres hoping that you do.

Very nice bike, but..... every time I have sat on one in Webbs I can't figure out how they stay on the road, they are so light and feel so small it's almost like being on a bicycle!

Re: Binned my Cat
Picked my Daughter up from school yesterday (first time I have seen her since the incident) got a big hug and she wouldn't let go! people must have thought I had been missing on a desert island for weeks!
Anyway, She's really going to miss the Cat and I have promised her that I would not go for a Blade yet. She does approve of my proposed next bike (Baron) but glad I will not be getting it till next year.
Defo. not another Cat as it just would not be the same. I had an excellent 19K on here and we enjoyed every ridout, especially the ones from you guys on here.
If I don't have a bike by WeeMac, then bugger it I will come up in the Car just for the Banter and camaraderie.

Hi John
I was going to ask what you wanted to do regarding this.
Coming along in the car would be fine of course (It has been done before), coming along along on a new bike would be better.
There is no rush on a decision though and should you decide you can't make it for whatever reason an executive decision has be made to refund you your deposit no problem.
Get well soon, hope the house/finances all work out well and fingers crossed for some happy bike shopping soon.
Cheers

Really appreciate that guys. I'm not going to cry, I'm not going to cry....
This is why, even though riders have moved on to different bikes, they stick with the forum. The people are really genuine and nice to be around plus it has the best rideouts.
