Binned my Cat
First topic message reminder :
It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you I have come off the Cat.
While on a rideout in Snake pass I hit a bit of oil on one of the bends near the end on the down hill section. The back wheel lost grip and the bike went for a low side but then decided to grip and flip, I was sent flying and stopped just short of the Armco. The Cat was not so luck and hit the Armco hard with the top of the bike. :(
I just don't have the words to express how gutted I am.

Hi John, I hadn't logged on all week and only saw this now... Sorry about the accident and not being able to repair your bike but glad that you're still okay with only minor injuries

Going to have a copious amounts of alcohol so if I hurt myself again there is a good reason and I can justify it!

Re: Binned my Cat
Ive had, what the consultant thought were ganglions removed from my knuckles, had them for years but riding with kevlar armour gloves has made them painful so in a 'simple' procedure i had them removed under a local aneasthetic. funny a friend of mine, who is a nurse, is also having one removed under a general, in hindsite she knows something i didn't!!
I too am left handed, luckily and even though I'm not supposed to be driving my boss kicked up that much of a fuss that I've been in the office all week bored to tears because I can't go out and see my customers.
His parting shot when I left tonight was "are you having that f*cking thing removed on Monday and getting back to work"?? Well bad news for him is it'll be replaced by a smaller one on Monday but the stitches will be staying so no driving next week.
Crap side to that is the bike stays in as well:(

Ah! [pointing] You have a woman's legs, my lord! I'll
wager those are legs that have never been sliced clean off
by a falling sail, and swept into the sea before your
very eyes.

Your skin milord. I'll wager it ne'er felt the lash of a cat, been rubbed with salt, and then flayed off by a pirate chief to make fine stockings for his best cabin boy.
Gotta love Blackadder and Tom Baker :-)

Re: Binned my Cat
Didn't think about how I wrote that but then as soon as you use the word 'Helmet' it is always going to descend.
I think I will be in for physio as the shoulder is still giving me grief and the throut still hurts to swallow. Had a shocker this morning when I coughed up some blood but looks like I may have had a small nose bleed in the night and put it down to that. The company has paid for a year at Balantynes so should be able to get fit for next year, result.
Still got a few months to heal before I need a bike although I want one now!
and no, Not a Woolly one like in the other thread!
Grantham Honda still have a Hutchy Blade that has a map of the Isle of Man TT Circuit all over it, but promised Daughter I would not just yet:

Yep and it shows I definately went face first. Will have another Shark but don't like the visor fixing on this one and it has to have Union Jack within the design.Radar wrote:Looks like it did a good job for you John

It was my plan to get 2 years under my belt before I got one, well I made 16months and had a lot of experience in that time but:
- Braking a promise or talking Daughter out of it would not set a good example to her.
- My Insurance is likely to be more now.
- I need to be in a financial position to loose money as I would put a lot of miles on it!
I will stick with my plans for the next bike, continue to drool every time I see a FireBlade and maybe after another a year I will be in a position to get my dream bike - after all that time it better live upto expectations!

Well if all goes to plan and I get mine you're welcome to take it round the block mate on our next meet up, which by my reckoning will be BC as I won't make Wee Mac :(
