Fuel!! Grrrrr!
First topic message reminder :
Ive had to put bloody Supreme Unleaded in my car today for work because of the muppets that are panick buying fuel and there's no normal unleaded left.
Ridiculous! And as much as I'd rather be sunning myself at home, I've had to go to work. Please England, return to normal! Lol.

I work from home and cabin fever is one of the few drawbacks.
Back in December I helped out another office who were swamped with some technical paperwork and the only time I left the house in four days was to nip across the road for a packet of fags.
On the Friday a call came in for Dingwall and I didn't even check it remotely, I just jumped in the car and drove there to get out of the house.
But Im a Nurse so working from home would be REALLY boring as I'd have no wingeing whining patients
Re: Fuel!! Grrrrr!
An ex of mine was a GP.
I told her I couldn't imagine a more depressing job.
She wasn't best pleased.
I mean it's not like your day is going to be filled with happy souls traipsing in and out of your door, is it?

Re: Fuel!! Grrrrr!
I filled up the mini the other eve (£15 as a tiny tank) and the focus on Friday (weith diesel). Not any queues at 9.45pm on my way home from work though some local garages are apparantly dry and my frind drove 40 miles to find a station with diesel in and she only lives 20 miles away.

Re: Fuel!! Grrrrr!
Seems it's nearly back to normal around here, further afield there are garages closed due to no stock.
Had no problem this afternoon, had the place to myself for a few minutes - only issue was the pay at pump was broken :(
See one place was selling at 10p/l more than I paid last weekend

Re: Fuel!! Grrrrr!
I live in what's basically a village at the junction of two major roads, and we have three petrol stations (BP, Shell & Jet).
Back in 2000 when we had the fuel strike, the franchisee of the BP garage bumped his prices to exorbitant levels, hoping to make a fast buck.
To this day their forecourt is mostly empty, Armenians are running a hand car wash where the automated port used to be (and do a far better job for £4 btw), while the forecourt at the Shell garage has occasional queues (they keep hitting the lowest price bar for the UK) and Cooper Bros. (Jet) does a steady service.
There's a moral here.
Try to f**k over Joe Public and you'll suffer.

My heart bleeds. Plus only working 4 days a week lol.
Re: Fuel!! Grrrrr!
Nurses seem to spend an inordinate amount of time complaining about Doctors.
It's as if they're expected to be infallible, whereas the nurses always seem to know better with the benefit of hindsight. (I have lots of friends who work in the health service and hear it all the time.)
It's just a normal working environment at the end of the day.
I'm not biased, I live in a shithole, but I have seen both sides.
(Including the voluntary work she did at night for prostitutes in Glasgow...(some nasty shit on so many levels))

Not at all! I've worked with Dr's from all specialities for 25 years and they're just another colleague, like any other professional, I work on par with a Dr, I'm autonomous, I perform minor surgery, I prescribe, I suture, I consult, diagnose, refer and put my job on the line daily with the clinical decisions I make. Why I should get only a third of the pay they do I don't know, especially as I've spent years at Uni studying and have a Masters Degree.
But hey! That's the NHS for you and as long as GP's hold the purse strings we're in for a more financially secure health service.
Tis the way of the world, Dr's moaning about Nurses, Nurses moaning about Dr's! Can't imagine any professions any different!
Sounds like your ex did a great job, fair play for volunteering with the public after spending all day with them too LOL!
