Check the obvious 'cat issues Nige especially the dreaded 2nd gear problem
Test ride it & from very low revs hold it in 2nd gear take it quickly up to the red line, If it shows any sign of jumping out of gear then walk away as its an engine & gearbox stripdown.
Rear shocks are problematic but otherwise the 'cats are pretty good.
As for price it depends on condition, service history etc & a fair price would be between £1200 to £1800 I guess.
Is this your new project mate

Re: what to look for at 30,000 miles ?
Hi Nick,
Cheers for that advice.
It maybe Since buying the Sprint I get the feeling it's not going to stand up to the winters too well & as I will be keeping it for some time I want to keep in nice. I like to get out a couple of times a month through the winter so thought I might part with the old CBR900rr for something more useful as I only did 3k on it last year.
Got to say from what I've seen & heard since joining The Thundercat could just be the ticket.
I'd have to buy it now & sell the old Blade in the spring which causes 2 slight probs 1. how to fund the interrim period & 2 where to put it ?

Check the exhaust manifold & the swing arm for rust/rot, could be a problem if not cleaned regularly if used through winter.
