How's your weather?
Picture of my back garden this morning. Think it'll be a while before the bike comes out again, but then again, there's the 650 v-twin 4-wheeler!!

brrr
Think I made the right choice to pay a bit more and get a direct flight to Tampa, wouldn't want to spend my holiday stuck in Detroit
Thanks that also put paid to any stupid ideas I had about trying to rent a bike in Florida ( I know the weather's a bit better ), but only seem to be able get a Harley or a Beamer - will have to settle for being chauffeured around in a Cadillac.
Welcome to the new site .

Detroit doesn't get too affected by the weather as it's much further east of Chicago. Chicago O'Hare - now that's another story. But either way, direct flights are the way to go!
Seriously, consider renting a Harley (did I just say that ). I got one from this place a few years ago - highly recommended. All the roads are straight down there so there's not much call for anything to lean over. My daughter and I had a blast going across the skyway, Marco Island, etc. Lot's of fun.

Hiya Schnorbitz, welcome to the site, it's been a long time since I saw a post from you, how long have you been stateside?
No snow here yet, although the "Meteo" ( French meteorological service) keep threatening us with it, although when they say it's gonna be sunny it rains etc.

If I remember correctly you had a black "Cat" when we met at Welshpool, am I right?

You are on the money. I did indeed have a Black cat and I think at the time of the Big One I'd had it for about 20 minutes, well 3 days. Been in the US since 2005 and loving every minute of it. Was in Colorado for a couple of years - now there are some twisty roads!! - and am now living in Michigan. Hooked up with a local group of bikers and we hoon around Michigan during the pleasant summer days generally terrorizing the public!
I hadn't posted on the old forum for a long, long time. Good to see that the following is still going strong. Certainly learned a lot from my days out with the 'cat crew!
Where about in France are you at and how long have you been there?

Re: How's your weather?
Hiya Gordon,
We have been out here in France since august 2005, we are in the south west about 1.5 hours south west of Toulouse.
We are renovating a single story house that might have been finished now if I hadn't busted my wrist in august, never mind, worse things happen at sea.
We love it out here, so peaceful, only about 40 k's from the pyrenees but only a couple of k's from a small market town. There is a big ex-pat community here which doesn't bode well for learning the local lingo, no such problems for you on that score.
Good to hear that you are enjoying your new home as we are.
Frank.

Re: How's your weather?
Minus 4 last night which culminated in the offside spring going on the car - seems to be a defect in C3s - the last time it was that cold earlier in the year the front nearside went I rang the garage to warn them the car was incoming, rang the RAC and told them - they obviously thought 'woman, knows not what she says' sent a bloke out in a van who knocked on my door and said 'you're right it is the spring i'll have to get a tow truck out here' mind you in his defence he did say a woman had rung about her Ford KA (does a Spit the Dog impression) yesterday saying suspension had gone - he turned up and the front tyre was flat!!!!!!
Anyway, it was cold, i was hacked off as i had a weekend up in Glasgow planned and landed up having to have the blooming car towed

weather OK,pity I'm not
So I think I'm clever missing out on the bad weather in the UK and spend two weeks in Florida with my dad. Weather been OK, 30C the other day, right now it is the coldest at 6C. Great stuff except when I got here my dad started with a nasty cold within two days I'm also man down.
I seem to specialise in getting sick when on holiday!!
I still can't comprehend a Harley though, but am being 'pushed' that way. I now have a Harley T-Shirt, was bought one when i arrived! Never noticed how straight the roads are here in the past, maybe 'coz previously I've visited when I lived in SA - fair number of long straights there.
