Derbyshire Rideout AKA The Devils Arse - names please
First topic message reminder :
Having just been to Castleton, we realised what an awesome place it would be for a rideout.
The roads around (if you find the right ones) are superb and of course the views stunning.
There are 6 pubs, all with accommodation, great beer and food.
There are B&B's, YHA, and camping nearby.
http://www.peakdistrictinformation.com/accommodation/b-and-b/castleton.php
It's very much like Bishops Castle.
Just a feeler really, maybe mid September or could wait till next year? I think it's less heavily policed in this area and a great place for a pub crawl.
Give me your thoughts peeps, I've never lead a rideout before so please be gentle with me.
Ellie
Nick & Ellie both nights & food.

Cheep accommadation would have to be the order of the day or i'll ride up and back in the same day.
Found a potential clash - 05/06/07 is BSB at Donington.

We'll all just have to camp in the back of your Mansion and start the rideout from there.

Re: Derbyshire Rideout AKA The Devils Arse - names please
I'd be up for the ride out only if it's this year, buggered holiday wise and got too much else on this year now (family hol, TOL, build new workshop, populate new workshop, resto RGV).
Am a definite yes though in some respect.

Right -
Fri/Sat 26th/27th September there are 3 x 6 bedded rooms available at the YHA in Castleton which is £129 a night for each room, on top of that they do Breakfast for £4.95 each.
Its a gorgeous YHA, recently renovated with sitting areas and ample parking, and within easy walking distance of the pubs in Castelton.
Only downside is that I cant reserve them, you pay when you book. If you want to book the YHA please go ahead ASAP.
There are also other smaller rooms available for friday night only.
There are Ample B&B's in Castleton and the Cheshire Mews (today) has availabilty for 14, over the road from the pub and ample off road parking.
Could I please have definite names (as soon as possible) so I can let you know exactly the plan, how much to pay etc, and get booked.
Accomodation in Castelton gets snapped up so If I dont get it booked I may have to rearrange for next year.

Re: Derbyshire Rideout AKA The Devils Arse - names please
Right lovely people....
Accomodation is first come, first served.
PLEASE BOOK YOUR OWN
Nick & I are booked in at the Cheshire Mews, and its £65 a night, They also have 2 further rooms available which can sleep 3-5 people with sofa beds etc, so would spread the cost.
If you ring Ken on 07977998881, tell them your part of Ellies bike group, he'll book you in, He only took a card swipe from me and he said we can pay when we get there.
http://www.cheshiremews-castleton.co.uk/
Its 4* accomdoation with parking off road, opposite the Cheshire Cheese pub.
The YHA in Castleton and is in easy walking distance of the pubs and has recently been renovated and looks lovely, thats £129 per 6 bedded room and they have availabilty for friday and saturday nights, they also have smaller room and I think they're about £29 each?, but need booking asap, you can book online. They will also do breakfast for £4.95.

There are also loads of B&B's and other pubs with accomodation but they get booked very quickly in Castleton.
