33bhp :(
Hey everyone!
Just wondering if anyone on here has a restricted Cat?
I had a go at restricting mine earlier, but couldn't get the carburetor out :/ The bolts holding it down are both extremely awkward to reach and loosen
If any one has restricted theirs, is there anyway of putting the plates on top of the Carbs? I can't imagine it makes much difference which side they go.
I'd just like to add I'm far from a mechanic and was quite surprised I've gotten down this far
Thanks,
Warren

Re: 33bhp :(
Mine was restricted but I took mine to a garage to be done.
Nick removed mine so might be along with some better advise.

Re: 33bhp :(
The carbs definitely have to come out to fit the washers, the clamps on each outlet are Allen keys & it would appear that they are fitted with the engine out judging by the positioning of them, if you manage to get them off then you can reposition them into an easier place to locate.
Good luck

Re: 33bhp :(
Bolts? I can remember there being any holding the carbs down. There are only four jubilee type clips around the inlet rubbers.fr3tless wrote:The bolts holding it down are both extremely awkward to reach and loosen
The carbs are removed first from the rubber inlets, then you will have enough room to remove anything else.

So. What I've learnt today, is Yamaha don't like making things easy to do. Still can't get the Damn carbs off

Re: 33bhp :(
I have the opposite problem of keeping them on!
You having problems undoing the lower clamps (marked 4 in the diagram)? I was able to loosen the clamps enough to be able to move the clip into a better position to get the allen key in easier.

This little quarter inch drive ratchetless wrench is one of my favourite tools. It gets into all sorts of awkward places.fr3tless wrote:Yeah, the clamps are incredibly hard to get at...
I'm glad you got it sorted.
