Big Mac check in
Well as I am first back having to miss the second rideout I am checking in to say I made it back a little wet after a fairly gruelling ride home. Altogether clocked up a tad over 900 miles in the three days and loved most minutes of it! There are some choice moments as there always is on these things but to be fair to knackerred to start typing them out... I would like to express my sincere thanks to those that organised and attended, fantastic from start to finish. Perhaps someone might have a word with the big man upstairs to sort the weather out next time eh?! Loved the weekend and once again huuuuge thanks.

It's off and on tbh. (forecast for here yesterday was crap, but was actually fine all day.. )
How's that 'pie fracture' holding up?
Bike snapped in half yet?

Back home safe and sound, showered and now chilling out with a cuppa after being flattened by 2 VERY happy German Shepherds lol! Nice pootle back home, couple of stops, even managed to 'nearly' miss all the rain, with only 5 mins worth around the Green Welly
Thanks again to everyone for a fab weekend, had a great time, lots of laughs and some great roads. Looking forward to next year already!!

Hi all. Got home just before 6, Last 70 miles from Penrith lashed it down, got very wet, but glad to be home. Great ride down with Rosco and our crowd, fantastic weekend, and really enjoyed riding in the wet. Thanks to all who attended with special thanks to the boy from Shotts.

Re: Big Mac check in
got back to my aunt and uncles (my overnight/halfway ish stop over) just after 6:30, big thanks to ross, dave and davie for routes, leading , tail ending and sorting the digs and food out, special thanks to ross, davie and wooster for tail ending and putting up with me at the back!
was a cracker of a weekend, being my first big mac, certainly coming back for more as soon as I can, though agree with martin that if the weather could be booked for next year that'd be great
another bog thanks to ross, terry, chris and bob for the ride/route back today, was a cracker again! nice to cover some of Saturday roads in the dry!
only slight down side... i noticed about 20 miles from my aunt and uncles the handling of the bike had gone, the thing wouldnt turn and the rear felt all weird, waiting at a set of lights, 5 miles from home, a biker behind me honks and rides up saying you've got a flat...garrrgh shite, thankfully I was right next to a petrol station, so got some air into it, the gauge showed only 3psi!!! got back to my aunt and uncles and found a nice neat puncture seeping air... so afterlots of chats and talks about tyre choices and how long they last, I'll be getting a set sooner than expected! hopefully I can get a new set at the local yamaha garage tomorrow morning, if not i'll be here for another day at least before heading home proper.
Also could one of the boys who has a contact number for bob please apologise to him on my behalf for not saying thanks for leading me back in and not saying bye, I couldnt get up to him and get his attention with my flat tyre, before the lights changed and he went off home, dont want to seem rude to him, just unfortunate I could get to him to explain.
thanks again
dave
p.s.
write up to come soon (hopefully)

Re: Big Mac check in
Wow - What a fantastic weekend folks
Big thanks to everyone who attended for making it such a great weekend......and also to "the one" who didn't attend.
Brilliant team spirit in the kitchen keeping us all fed, watered and dish duties.
I'll be back next year just hoping for some more Banoffii Good Pie. 10/10 Fiona
Incident free (well apart from my up and coming numpty point which I will second) - Sorry again Steve
Thanks to DBD (in absentia) and Furball for their efforts in making the weekend go smoothly.
Had a great ride up to the venue and a great ride back too.
Roll on the next one.
Sorry to hear about your tyre Dave........Could have been very scary.
I've had that myself once. I always get the gunk in my tyres now.
Sorry to hear about your bike TomCom - Hope you can get in going again soon.
Thinking cap on for where we are going next year.......any suggestions?
Cheers
Rosco

Re: Big Mac check in
Wet, Wet, Wet - 'I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my bones'
Oops, sorry still singing to myself, fantastic weekend, think my personal riding best
Not long out of Oban and the rain started, stop to put wet gear on and the waterproof mits I've been lugging around, unused, for years. They lasted about 3 miles, had to stop and loose them, couldn't see where I was going ( no glove wiper blade anymore and couldn't ride the bike ).
20 miles south of Glasgow and the heavens opened up, had that on and off all the way to London. My own stupid fault for using gloves that had lost their waterproofing years ago. Ditched them for ones that are, around Preston, also changing my silk inner gloves for the plastic gloves supplied at fuel stations for diesel users - no more wet hands.
Having declined riding down with ChickenTim and John, feeling I'd cramp their pace, I came across a bike which looked a bit familiar on the M6. The traffic had come to a halt and only progress was filtering. I'm thinking I'm making light work of the traffic jam and come upon this rather wide BMW was in front of me. I curse at having now to stop and try and nudge the bike in front of me out the way - oops it's John
Got home a few minutes over schedule just after 9pm, guess pretty good considering - still, a slither under 12 hours with all the stops.
A huge thank you to Ross, Davie and Dave (DBD) - some cracking routes you planned out and led / tail-ended.
I felt bad leaving before breakfast was sorted, leaving you all with the clear out. Fi, your banofie's were great - I hadn't realised we only managed to get through one of them.
A big thanks to all the cooks, dish washers and everyone - collectively we all made this a fantastic ride out.
My pics are on Flickr just :5:to view.
CapCom suggestions?
Some artistic attempts of the bay, achieved tho' after two Kingfisher beers in the Indian!!
I have found team Transit in the video and have taken a snapshot as he pulls into the 'pits' to retire - think he may have lost his drive for the rest of the year !!

Re: Big Mac check in
tyre update....
been to the local yammy dealer to my aunt and uncles, thankfully only 2 mins away, raceways of fleetwood. got a set of polit road 3's going on, hopefully tomorrow, so will then be on my way after them being fitted, though if not i'll be here till thursday before getting home....
though for £235 fitted from a full yammy dealer its a deal not to be sniffed at, my current rear was close to the end of its life so thought sod it, instead of repairing it

Re: Big Mac check in
That's a sore one mate, not far off £100 more than I'd expect to pay for a decent tyre plus fitting.
Re: Big Mac check in
shush you!! I paid well over that for a pair of 2's 18 months ago... plus needs must, got work on thurs and need to get home! and tyres at home would be more expensive. looked online and couldn't find a pair of 3's for much less than £200...

Don't worry EDave. I'm well ahead of you in the tyre price humping contest!!!
£235 is a good price for both tyres fitted. I Paid £280 for 2x PR3's fitted.
£135 maybe for a rear only. No way for both. Or I'll eat one of mine!!
I won't mention my Spanish tyre price humping incident tho.
