Heading North
First topic message reminder :
Hi folks,
Just wondering what everyones travel arrangements were for getting up to Big Mac?
Been chatting with Mr Nutt and we're probably going to meet and ride up together, possibly meeting Rosco on the way.
How many people are heading up from Englandshire?

Re: Heading North
Steve, Paul & Karina are staying at mine on the Thursday night.
Mmm Fish & Chips @ Biggar - good choice.
I'm thinking about getting organised and sorting a food & drink delivery for Oban - Might make it for 6pm(ish) to allow some folks (self included to be there)
Actually just getting organised would be nice.
Cheers

Steve, are you coming up from Croydon - want to call in at mine for a brew and then head up from Lancaster?

Around lunchtime should give us plenty of time to go the scenic route

Re: Heading North
Right, just to throw a complete spanner in the works I should make it for 9am to devils bridge. I won't be there any later than 9.30 so if you boys want to get a bacon sandwich and wait then that would be great. As said before though if you need to get off sharpish then no problem I understand..

Re: Heading North
Well my R1 is currently in bits in my garage due to an overheating problem... I have taken off the fairings and flushed and changed the coolant so if I can work out how to put the bastard back together then great! If not I shall be coming on the ER6f that we have just bought for Angela....

Probably going more north first and then west rather than the more direct route.

I'm surprised you didn't use The Duke's Pass since you were in vicinity and decided on the Lake of Menteith road to Callander instead.
I was up there last week and the road is in good nick.
It's a road you need to take it easy on, but the views are spectacular and you have the option of stopping at Trossachs Pier for a break, instead of the Blue Rinser infested Callander itself.

Re: Heading North
It's one of those roads that would be a shame to miss, given you're going to be so close and only adds an extra ten minutes to the total time..
(I would have said to take a run out to Stronachlachar, but the road is a bit rough for loaded bikes and two ups )

Re: Heading North
All done... New coolant, fan kicks in at 104 degrees celcius as it should. Oil level sorted, brake fluid sorted, ready for the off. Got a meeting in Peterborough tomorrow so pack and load the bike tomorrow night when I get back and will see some of you crazy kids @ Devils Bridge.

Re: Heading North
I hope you all have a good time and ride safe. No need to say but have a drink for me.
As I have to travel across to the good old US of A on Sunday morning. Be back in just short of three weeks so will hopefully see some of you down in the flat lands of Lincs in September. If I can still fit on the bike!

Hope you've all met up a Devil's Bridge and are on your way north.
Have a great weekend, enjoy the roads and company and get back safely!
Cheers,
Chris
Wish I was able to make it this year
Go easy on posting up pictures of distilleries, whisky or the consumption of whisky - please.
