Heading North?

First topic message reminder :

Who's heading up from south of the border and when?

We're probably leaving around 1-2pm from Richmond/Leyburn.

I won't be able to leave till about 10am as I have to drop the daughter off first but should be able to make 12 at Scotch or 1 at Kirkby Stephen (thanks for the wrong spelling Terry, took me a while to find it) lol

owen and i will be heading up via scotch corner, but dont know what time we're aiming to leave ( kids and dogs to sort first) , if it looks like were on target for 12 we will see you there, if not will see you all up at the house

Greencat, I can be at Scotch Corner for 12 if I set off a little earlier than I had planned or can meet you enroute closer if you want to put something in the car.

My plans are very flexible as the car will be equipped with in-car dvd player and discs of Baby TV to keep Ewan amused.

I might be tempted to come along with you guys and gals, just to check Scotch Corner is where the A66 joins the A1?

though might mean leaving at 7am for me which after a late bar shift not sure if I fancy...

Just got to get through a day at Thorpe Park with the Daughter tomorrow.

Will bring a bottle of JD with me and a very nice Sipping Rum. Should be able to fit that in my bag.

Dave, what about meeting us either at Kirkby Stephen at 1 or Longtown at around 2 ish?
P.S. don't use A7, turn off at Longtown and head for Newcastleton. Thank me later ;-)

I'd be very surprised, nay SHOCKED if your bike wasn't "out of the box", showroom clean John. If you want me to leave a key under the mat you can stop at mine on the way up and clean it again

It's a shame it will get mucky on the way up. Can't fit me bucket and polishing kit on the bike.

Well I'll be a bit embarrased as not cleaned mine since the weekend bimble and haven't got time now...

M1/M6 could see you at Kirkby Stephen in three hours easy so 10am start. I'm going Lancaster/Kirkby Lonsdale/Sedbergh/Kirkby Stephen - happy to meet off M6 junction 34 just before 12?

Yeah and leave my R1 there? Mind, if the blade is clean then it could save me a job....

I can't get away until about 3pm so will have the usual indignity of getting lost two or three times before I get there..

We normally meet slap-bang in the middle of the town. There's a little square on the east side of the main road near the public toilets.

I was kinda hoping to not be traumatised on a ride out , so if I see just terry and an for in the square near the public toilets I just pin it and carry on riding north ? Haha
