If it ain't too bad .... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
You could try a repair.
A more expensive alternative is to buy covers - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This the option I went for as I've seen a couple of bikes where a slide has ended the ride as it ground through till oil went everywhere :( and this offers further protection which unfortunately I has the pleasure of trying out.....and it did its job.
Good luck

Re: WANTED Thundercat Generator Cover
Yeah I've been looking and they relay are not cheap. I can get a very very scratched one for £40. But all the others are way to expensive for a poor uni student!

Re: WANTED Thundercat Generator Cover
Yeh, I think brand new they are around £100. Not surprising bikes are so easily written off. I have seen somewhere on the Internet someone filling their scratched one and painting it. Perhaps that might be a more student-friendly option.

Managed to get mine off e bay for £21 but was looking for ages. Luckily, mine was not too badley damaged so could afford to wait until one the right price came up. Good hunting!

Re: WANTED Thundercat Generator Cover
I dont want to be stranded with 30 grands worth of debt before i even start my adult life so i dont get a student loan. I work 3 jobs so i can pay for tuition fees, rent and all my food and what little money i have left i spend on my bike :-D
£21 is around what i would like to spend. Mines not too bad but i worried that if water gets in it might cause issues.

Re: WANTED Thundercat Generator Cover
Did you manage to find one? I'm also looking and not willing to pay £100 on ebay for a new one, and no second hand ones on there at the moment!

Re: WANTED Thundercat Generator Cover
Ah I see. Unfortunately I don't think you will get a 2nd hand one come up very often. I think there's aftermarket versions kicking around as well if that's an option but don't think they're cheap either, from memory.

Re: WANTED Thundercat Generator Cover
I think they're uprated/stronger. Mainly for track days when people are coming off and smashing up the standard covers.

Re: WANTED Thundercat Generator Cover
The ones that Rosco mentioned above....
Carbonadi link
are going fairly cheap (for what they are) at the moment.... looks like the generator cover is approx. £35 plus postage.... and they're brand new
I think they've come down in price since Rosco bought his....??

Thanks guys, we're going to go for the Carbonadi ones - half the price of a damaged second hand replacement I found on ebay.
