Bought this bike in Preston last year...
It has a whole bunch of mods I believe but I don't know what they all are, I'd love to get in touch with the guy who tarted it up!

Re: Bought this bike in Preston last year...
That looks like Wowey's twin!
I'll say the same to you as I did to Wowey.... nice look but the Cat doesn't have an EXUP valve. Would be good if it had the Öhlins suspension (rather than just the sticker!).

Re: Bought this bike in Preston last year...
Hi everyone, thanks for the comments
Weasley, it came with all the bling attached, it has stickers all over it, I don't know what half of them mean :/
It does actually have an Ohlins shock I dunno what at EXUP valve is, any chance matey could have had one fitted? He seems to have spent a shedload of money on it & it only cost me £1300
Mrfrance - thanks, I agree
johnakay - er... no thanks

Re: Bought this bike in Preston last year...
An EXUP valve is fitted in the exhaust and is used to boost power at different engine speeds; it is fitted in the Thunderace, Fazer 1000 etc but not the Cat and highly unlikely it will be retro-fitted as it requires not only pipe work in the exhaust but also electronics to control it.
Nice to have Öhlins suspension! Hope you figure out all the upgrades, if only to be fully insured. ;o)
That Yamaha US 'speedblocks' design is a classic and looks good on any bike!

Re: Bought this bike in Preston last year...
Very Nice Bike Bud and good price.!!
I love that colour scheme and I wouldnt worry too much about bits and insurance they are only bothered if you try to claim really expensive after market bits if you dont tell them about them.Just ride it and enjoy it,there are plenty of other things too worry about in this life, never mind worrying about what accessories we have on our bikes. VERY NICE BIKE.!!!

Re: Bought this bike in Preston last year...
It's just a standard single seat cowl, but has a neat paint job on it obviously. These are fairly easy to pickup second hand in here, on eBay or buy new from somewhere like Powerbronze.
I do like the tail tidy on that bike though - amongst other things. Very nice.

Re: Bought this bike in Preston last year...
Mornin I've just had the inspired idea of typing in 'Yamaha thundercat for sale' on a picture search & found my bike! Why I never thought of it before I dunno. I'm guessing that this was the bloke who sold it to the bloke who sold it to me. Here is a list of 'a few of the extras' & what they cost:
Delkevic Exhaust and stainless header pipes £300
Ohlins shock £500
NRC engine casings £252
LSL rearsets £181
Art carbon fibre frame covers £ 125
ATL quick release fuel cap £93
Hugger £75
Ohlins fork springs £73
Goodridge brake lines front and rear £70
Iridium double bubble screen £60
Undertray £55
Extenda Fenda £18
Seat cowl £37
Suzuki GSXR mirrors £35
Stainless bolts etc £30
Digital gear Display £70
So I got a proper bargain Feeling very chuffed

Re: Bought this bike in Preston last year...

As ellie said that is a heck of a lot of money to fork out.

Re: Bought this bike in Preston last year...
That was a labour of love, someone has spent all that money to keep the bike and must have fell on hard times or something has happened for them to let it go.
Not wanting to put a downer on it and well done to you, the bike is a beaut and you got yourself a real deal there

Is this your bike on our transatlantic cousins' forum?
http://www.yzf600r.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=46696
If it is then it's a 660cc Cat! Lucky you.

Re: Bought this bike in Preston last year...
Nice find looks like most of the mods were pre-2008?
Did it cost you alot more for your insurance after you'd declared all them mods?
I presume if its a 660 its a higher tax bracket? i might be wrong.

Love the yellow and black racing colours. That must be one of the most heavily modified Thundercats in the country.
