Winter rebuild begins
For the last 3 weeks i have been going to start stripping the bike down but the sun has been out so i have ridden it.
So this cold & foggy sunday afternoon finally started.
Last ride of the year
This is as far as i got when it started getting dark & colder. Sorry about the rubbish iphone camera pics.
Still not 100% sure what i am going to do yet but have a few ideas. Started taking the matt black film off.
Paul.

Cheers dave. Yes got a few ideas, most likely to stick with what i have wanted to do all year. Black frame and swing arm, white fairings with blue graphics but we will see.

Out of interest was your fairing professionally sprayed or did you do it yourself?

It's a fairly standard Yamaha Blue underneath - The Matt Black is a film / vinyl I believe.
This year's model looked nice. I wonder what next years black will be.
Good Luck with it Paul.
Cheers

Re: Winter rebuild begins
What I would love is white with blue fleck in it, the same dark blue the thundercat is.
But I am unsure if it will look:
A - Cool as fcuk
B - Very, VERY gay

Anyone know where I can get film like that? How easy is it to apply?

I had it applied for me by a great company called totally dynamic. They have franchises nationwide now.

Had a day off today to sort a few things out & managed to spend another hour on the bike this afternoon.
Slowly making progress.

Re: Winter rebuild begins
Had a bit of spare time for the first time in a while today so set too removing the matte black from the remaining fairings.
Just one of the big side panels left to do now when my fingers recover.
I am thinking of keeping it blue again for next year as the paint is perfect & get some decals designed & made up.

Re: Winter rebuild begins
Blue would look good, just remember that the red, white and black ones are much quicker...

Re: Winter rebuild begins
Just got some decals made up this week & set to applying them today & thought i would let you see the bike back as pretty much standard for this year at least.
Not done a lot to it over winter really except take off the black vinyl, new rear tyre & major service including brakes overhaul.
I have got yamaha stickers to go on the bottom of the fairings also but need to take them off to fit them so have to wait for now.
