It's mid October and all's well
Yesterday was a fine afternoon and gorgeous evening.... so took the bike to work. Bit chilly in the morning at 7:30, but had nice dry roads to myself Had a lousy ride home, catching up with a learner on my favourite bends, 3 school buses, two sets of traffic lights and two tractors (this is rural Lincolnshire!).
Today, another beautiful day so found an excuse to visit the dealer in Lincoln and then head back the long way via Willingham Woods for a cuppa. Pics are below. Busy, busy and no wonder - there won't be may more weekends like this. Had a 'progressive' ride from Bardney to Wragbey and then Market Rasen. Was followed by another bike from Wragby to Market Rasen which never got too close and kept up like a riding partner. It was good to have some company. Both headed to Willingham but then lost them in the melee that was the local biker meet today. Still, they found me just as I was about to set off again and said they'd enjoyed the ride from Walesby too. Which is a nice thing to do. We chatted a bit and I burbled on about the site, then headed home. So may have a new recruit to the site
So, in summary, a good few hours on the bike in glorious weather (didn't think there'd be many more day like this) then I get complimented on my riding by a girl (didn't think that would happen either) Credit where credit's due - she was a competent rider so I'll take it as a compliment.
Anyone else manage to get out today?

Had an usual day, had to go see my old instructor and ended up helping him with 4 CBTers, then got an unexpected text to meet at Webbs in Eye if I wanted to go out on a ride out.
We went via Bourne, Corby Glen to the Honda garage in Grantham (i think). They seem to know some fantastic roads. Although they were quick through the bends I was not uncomfortable keeping pace.
At the Honda garage there were a couple of gorgeous Fireblades, one in Black and Metalic Maroon, a VFR in Pearlesant White and an Orange KTM RC8 - fancy one of them - come on lottery!
Except for the gravel dumped on one bend, no real hairy moments just a fantastic rideout. More cool sunny days wanted.

Just done the same trip again but on my own. Saw two bikes didn't make the second bend in an 'S'. Both rider were walking about so seemed ok but unmarked police car was in attendance.

Re: It's mid October and all's well
Even I managed to get out on Saturday!!
Didn't go that far or that fast. It's the second weekend now I have been on the bike First time was down to Rykas, usually a round trip would be under an hour, it took me an hour an a half and was quite sore when I got home.
Tried my 'technical' route on Saturday.
Didn't get my wish of clear roads and was stuck behind traffic in some of the lovely bits :(
However there was enough clear road to ride to my limit. I think the bike enjoyed being out too, went very well.
It is good to be on the bike again, I've still got a long way to go shoulder wise to do any 'endurance' riding, an hour seems to be my limit for now. Am also aware of my reaction now to vehicles stopping in front of me, hopefully it'll normalise in time.

Glad to hear you are out and about again.
Hopefully things will get easier and the cold weather doesn't hurt too much.
