Oh flippin eck! Another bike problem
Rode to work today full of joys of spring (well autumn) half way home (which luckily is about 1-2 miles) bike smells and is smoking! I was not far from home so carried on steadily as it didn’t sound or feel any different. Got it to my drive and its leaking oil fairly rapidly and its all over the back tyre, as I had two roundabouts to navigate I consider that to be pretty lucky I didn’t slip!
So parked up again til weekend when I have time to get plastics off and see whats gone on. Theres no oil at work where it was parked for 5 hours and like I say it’s a five min journey so must have just happened. Poss be a seal or pipe or something.
Guess I know what my plans are for the weekend!

Oh Dear, that does not sound very nice at all.
You not got a Scottoiler by any chance?
I know I'm a fine one to say this, but you really ought to tell the bike smoking isn't good

it was just the oil on the downpipes that was burning off more than smoke, sorry i worded it incorrectly
the bike sounded and rode exactly the same. And then fired up and rode into the garage perfectly.

Not a female thing, I know plenty of people who've seen big oil patches on the floor and still start the bike without checking
Glad it's all good though

As I was reading the posts I was thinking possibly the oil filter. Glad it is an easy fix Emma. Any idea why it is leaking? Some debris thrown up at it or has the seal failed?
