Eifel weather
Just took a peek at the long range weather forecast for the region..... looks like I'll be needing those waterproofs then!

Re: Eifel weather
Tis The Eifel and a mountainous area . . . . carries it's own weather system sadly . . .. but we can live in hope that this time the forcast is incorrect
Re: Eifel weather
Come on Tel. Every time we have a Thundercat trip to Germany it rains.
Seriously though, I hope you do have good weather and a good trip.

Re: Eifel weather
Well, I'm pretty much ready to roll now. I have to do it now because I am off to Germany on business tomorrow, back Tuesday night - working Wednesday until around 4pm, then dash home, mount bike and leave. I have a surprising amount of space left in my panniers - either they're bigger than I remember or I've left out something major....
Got a bargain on European recovery too - I'm unlikely to do this again in a hurry (new baby and all) so looked for single trip cover. Found a deal for £22 covering the days we're away, covered by Axa through an agent. Here's hoping I won't need it but it's nice to have the back-up.
Here's praying for some

Re: Eifel weather
Think we should all be pretty much ready to roll now Really looking forward to it now.
Having great fun watching all the last minute "panic" posting and meeting up to get there posts on the german thundercat site.
Hmm, got yer shoes in the panniers ? They're usually the space munchers.
Germany twice huh ? Which part you going to be in for the business trip ?

Hamburg tomorrow.
BTW, what's the link for the German site? Might pop over and test my schoolboy German.

Space in the paniers usually does mean something left out [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] or you have packed well!

Yep, have a great time guys.
Ride safely and fly the flag - the UK Thundercat site flag.
Obay the rulez and enjoy the German roads.
I guess there'll be no problem tasting the German beer!
Looking forward to the write-up and pics when you get back.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Eifel weather
OK, so we might stay a little dryer than I thought...

Today's the day! I still have to collect my GB-badged number plate from Halfords after they screwed the order up, twice.... numpties. Hopefully will get that today, fix it and then go. There's still an alarming amount of space in my panniers, but then the weather looks a little colder that I was planning so I might chuck in a jumper!

Re: Eifel weather
Don't let Halfrauds drill it for you- had the same problem couple of remakes and then I asked them to drill the holes - got them skew!!
Hope the weather holds and have a great time.

Don't worry, I'm something of a perfectionist so will defintely be drilling and screwing myself! There may even be a spirit level involved.
