Hellooooo!
Hi all!
Awesome site. Snagsy here, just doing my Direct Access course at the moment (not literally!), and purchased a T-Cat for my first bike! Its getting delivered next sat/sun. 1997 and FSH:
30 years old, married with 2 kids and been driving since 17 so left it a little late I suppose, but better late than ever!
Anyway hope to learn a lot here and please be gentle

Hey Snagsy - welcome to the gang
Good luck with the test, glad you're not doing right at this moment cos it's a bit cold and dark where I am!!
Nice looking bike - hope to catch you out on some of the rideouts... and don't worry they're always gentle with newbies.... it's the rest of us that get a ribbing

Which bit did you leave a bit late , getting married and having the kids or you mean doing the DAS ? I only passed my DAS In Late Jan this year aged nearly 42 so you are ready when you are ready - what ever that age is A very warm welcome !

Yeah I know that feeling very well , I did it that way round too - and my test was postponed twice because of the snow to add to my misery even more Still that's all in the past now :bounce:

Re: Hellooooo!
Hi Snagsy,
Another welcome to the site!
Good luck with the test. Just remember that the bike's far more capable than you so ride within your limits.
Take time to get to know the bike; build up the miles and enjoy your rides out.
Join us if you can, it's always good to see new riders.
Cheers
Chris

Thanks for the warm welcome
DAS module 1 test tomorrow morning, only fear I have is touching the ground when doing figure of eights, which I didnt do today whilst practising on a CBF-500
*fingerscrossed*
Oh and I thought I was leaving it late getting my bike licence - apparently not!

Re: Hellooooo!
Nice looking bike.
I've just joined the site, I picked my Tcat up 3 weeks ago. They all seem a friendly bunch.
Good luck with the test. I passed mine in 1982 so the examiner was on foot and couldn't see you while you did the circuit round and back to him.
I doubt I could pass it now with him following you on a bike.
Good luck and enjoy the feeling when you pass.
Cheers Rich.

Re: Hellooooo!
Oh dear - failed.
Zero minor faults. Had to redo my "swerve" test after getting 40kp/h the first time. Did 48 (!) kp/h the second time. Requirement is 50 kp/h if you didn't know.
Soooo frustrating that you can't see what speed was recorded till after the end! Did really really well for the whole test, then fail because I wasn't aggressive enough with acceleration.
No problem though, doing it again next monday, and had my module 2 test booked for 25th anyway so its not like I would have got my licence any quicker if I'd had passed today! lol
Cheers for the warm welcome

Re: Hellooooo!
At least you know next time. Typical innit, you only fiind out something you need to know after the buggers fail you.
Keep the chin up. The cats waiting patiently for you to pass.

Och - bugger nothing worse than that damn swerve... grr!! Poor you - but never mind, at least you've got a quick retest. Fingers crossed for the next time - I'm sure you'll be just fine. Looking forward to seeing you out and about this summer
