Who has snow
Anyone else got any snow it has snowed on & off all day in bradford. Had fun driving home it seems that it is too cold or dangerous for the grit trucks to come out & a couple of roads are just sheet ice. Slipped slid & skidded a few times but nothing too major. Glad i was in the car i did see a guy on a new r1 this morning going to work & i would not want to be on that tonight.

Re: Who has snow
Snowed most of yesterday and had a few inches overnight, on and off at the moment - enough for a little snowman.
See there is a bike in the car park this morning, maybe he abandoned it last night - surely he couldn't have ridden this morning. Was bad enough walking in, no way would I get the bike out.
Was going to do a toy run tomorrow, my Santa outfit arrived in the post this morning. Sorry boys and girls this Santa ain't chancing it. Think I'll be playing with my Yamaha in the lounge and not the Yamaha outside this weekend

Er - where you been then - nearly 2 inches boston by 8 am took me hour to get from sutterton to Coningsby - another 45 mins from Coningsby to Sleaford (a journey that normally takes 25 tops) to book on for work = from Sleaford to 5 miles down the road to Heckington along the A17 20 mins - i then had to wait at the top of the car park (we share the entrance with the drs surgery) whilst a woman made 5 attempts to get up the slope and slid back down before she gave up - i drove in and we then chucked sand down from the surgery by lunchtime we then had about 3 inches outside- i called it a day at work at 7pm because i didn't like the look of the weather - drove back to Sleaford to pick up my car left there at about 20past and drove the 14 miles along the A17 finally getting in the house at nearly 8.30 having not even hit 30mph along the 17 and passed 4 rtc's along the way all with emergency services there!
No snow my feckin' arse!!!!!!!!!

Re: Who has snow
We had about 3" on Friday which never really thawed, then tonight we got another dump meaning my car is now abandoned about 300 yards from my house and we had to walk over 2 hours to collect our daughter from nursery. Cars abandonded all over the place, buses wheelspinning try to get up hills, a Landy Defender nearly planted itself in the boot of my car. Fun fun!!

Re: Who has snow
Reading and surrounding areas are at a standstill today due to the snow .Luckily my OH did the shopping this morning and picked up the little one from nursery before it just fell out of the sky. Also It's my day off today or I would have struggled to get back from work in London

Re: Who has snow
We've had what seems to be a small snow shower (half or maybe as much as an inch), but the centre of town ground to a halt this evening bringing the tram network to its knees :( the place was gridlocked.
Problem is the snow from last week has not fully melted and has turned everywhere into an oversized ice rink. I went ar$e over t!t on the way to work this morning, my coccyx and wrist hurt more than my pride - then I discovered the disk drive I had in my backpack smashed beyond repair, so must have been some fall. Maybe I ought to wear my leathers tomorrow, will be better protected
Tried taking the bike cover off yesterday, got rid of the snow, but the ice that had formed at the bottom of the cover prevented me from getting it off - not that I was planning on going anywhere. I can't wait for global warming.
Ooh it was the shortest day today, so it ought to getting better

Re: Who has snow
Thanks guys for your well wishes, still a bit sore, but will be over it soon.
Think the helmet protection might be a bit too late espaceman, I had completely missed the sympathy opportunity Ross, must have hit my head as well . I'm an IT person, we tell everyone else to backup and don't head our own advice naah I do have it elsewhere
I decided to 'play it safe' this morning and walk along the road instead, bit easier to spot an oncoming tram or bus than a slide

Re: Who has snow
We had it bad this morning. I just about managed to get off the farm where I live but before I joined a country lane just off the farm I walked down the hill to see what the road was like.
Just as well I did, apart from the hill being really slippery, the bottom of the hill was like a car park cos the cars couldn't go anywhere. So, rang work and told em I wouldn't be in for a while and proceeded back home to get the fire going.
Tried again around 11am, even more cars. Consequently, not been in work at all today. The fire has been going and I've been lovely and warm.
Tomorrow morning could be interesting with a forecast of -6 tonight. Got a feeling the ice could stop me getting into work for a while.
Isn't it great.
Tony
