Re: Funny sound
You are probably referring to the fuel pump, which whirs for a couple of seconds when you turn the ignition on. The length of time it whirs for depends on how much remaining fuel is already in the fuel system; the longer you leave the bike, the longer it whirs (until it times out at around 5s IIRC).
If it is whirring a long time every time you turn it on, perhaps there is a fuel delivery issue somewhere? Just to check, there is fuel in the tank, right? And the fuel tap is open?

Re: Funny sound
As Paul says above,
The fuel pump ticks very fast as it primes the carburettors, if it’s been stood for some time you may need to switch off the ignition & repeat, when the carburettors are fully primed the ticking will noticeably slow down before it’s ready to attempt to start the bike.
Both my Thundercat & Exup follow(ed) this process & can easily flood the bike if attempting to start the bike too soon.

Re: Funny sound
A blocked fuel filter might cause this.
There's also the known issue with old fuel, particularly supermarket 95-octane, leaving a deposit in the carbs when it evaporates, that can block up the jets.
