Re: Bike standing without wheels?
You need a front yoke/headstock stand, it's a two piece front stand.

I have had some success putting an axle stand under each fork leg.

Re: Bike standing without wheels?
How long do you want the wheels off for? If it's out the wind and somewhere where it will not be bumped or knocked it should be fine but if any of the above are present them it will.not.be long before it is no longer on those Axel stands.

Re: Bike standing without wheels?
i didnt need to do that for years and i dont want to do that later, so stand is not really good idea for my when i try to get it all sorted "cheap"
i think i will take all fairing off and just put bike on the side.
I want to take wheel off for around 4-5 days need to clean wheel paint it and then put it back on

Re: Bike standing without wheels?
Do you mean lay the bike down on its side? If so that is not a good idea. You will fill the cylinders with oil. If you don't want to invest in a headstock stand then at least a ratchet strap or two to ratchet the sides to something solid so it can't tip off the Axel stands

Re: Bike standing without wheels?
For the front end I just have a normal front paddock stand - the type with pins that go under the bottom of the fork legs. When I take my front wheel out I always refit the axle immediately and put a screw jack underneath in case the forks get dislodged from the stand.
I also have an Abba stand, which I got when I did the swing arm bearings on the 'Cat. I don't use it very often as it's more trouble to use than normal paddock stands, but it's more stable if the bike is going to be without a wheel for any length of time. But even on the Abba, if the front wheel is out I would still prop the front up as a precaution.
And, as a general rule, I wouldn't take both wheels out at the same time.

Re: Bike standing without wheels?
Rear paddock stand and one axle stand should do the trick.
When you take the front off, fit the axle back in and rest it on the axle stand. (The rear will be left on the paddock stand, obviously)
