Cotswolds & Oxon Loop

We've been discussing this for a while, but time has come to announce the details of the inaugural ride through the Cotswolds.



Basing ourselves at the Holt Hotel on the crossroads of the B4030 and the A4260 near Steeple Aston. There are other accommodation options available, B&B's from about a mile away and a  camp-site about 4 miles away.
Meet at The Holt from Friday evening for those staying over, those close by who would like to join for the day's ride-out are most welcome and can join us in the hotel car park Saturday morning. Conveniently there is a petrol station opposite the hotel.


The price of the hotel (per person per night)
RO: £35
BB: £40
DBB: £65

bookings please either via this thread or a PM to Ondurin (Raymond). The ride-out is in the planning stages, however getting an idea of how many will be able to make the ride-out will help with the catering choices.


If you could put your names down here, the master list will updated. Questions and discussions are welcome in this thread.

Sadly (or happily, depending on your viewpoint) I return from holiday on 16th so won't be able to join this ride (which is just up the road from my house!).  I get back late so can't even pop in on Saturday night.

Great Tes, down as a possibility. I'm not going to make it any worse for you NIck missing a great weekend riding, understand though it is a busy time of year for many.

Thanks Paul, Bobh is in charge of the route, maybe he can have a word with you. If time and availability permit possibly we could do a recce.

We have a small team so we all know what will be happening, besides I've trained up the reception staff well enough not to bother me, unless it's a matter of emergency (or it's a certain receptionist )

Sounds good, if you can please. Unfortunately it won't be the original plan of getting as many Thundercats together as possible.

We have a huge car park so I'll look at boxing off the part closest the entrance, lol.

Hey all,

I met with Steve yesterday for a quick chat and what I've done is reserve 10 double rooms for the night of the 15th. We are really really busy on the 16th so if people want a 2nd night please let me know asap.

I'm working on the price of the rooms at the moment and I'll be putting out RO, BB and also DBB rates in case people want a variety.

If anyone has questions about the Hotel just ask, I don't bite

I'll also be boxing off an area for us to all park in

So the rates are as follows and I've gotten them as low as possible;

RO: £35
BB: £40
DBB: £65

The BB rate is the best to go with tbh as then you're not forced to have food here (The burger here are awesome btw) and it gives the option to go to the local pie pub up the road in Deddington.

ps: Normal BB rate for 15th is currently at £104

Those who are close by and would like to join in Saturday evening if you could please let us know here so was can make sure we cater correctly.

Anyone else who'd like to maybe join us, even if you can only manage part of the day with us it'd be great; if you wouldn't mind mentioning that so we can ensure the tea and lunch stops will be able to cater us all.
