New leathers for the year!
As the description says, any one else got new leather for 2016? Or are you going to stick to what you have?
I bought myself some new leathers, as pictured below! (Main reason was that my old Frank Thomas 2 piece was Orange and just didn't look right on the Tcat!) Also picked up some new boots, to match ofc

Re: New leathers for the year!
Very nice, looks good.
I have no intention of getting new leather this year, but might have to if I can't shift the unwanted extra weight as the trousers don't quite fit any more

Re: New leathers for the year!
Funny thing was that after my major crash last year I lost around 1 stone in weight so when I did get back on a bike 4 months afterwards, my Frank Thomas leathers didn't fit right at all (I wasn't wearing them in the crash just fyi), seemed to have lost the weight on my upper body, but I've now managed to put the weight back on but instead of going back where it was it's decided to go to my arse . So I kind of needed the extra backside room in the leathers xD
Next up is a new Helmet as I've had to use my spare since my Caberg Sintesi got smashed to hell in the crash
Just have to find one that I like now.

Nice leathers & boots.
I just need new gloves this year, everything else is good a while yet which is good because I can't afford to replace them at the minute.

Re: New leathers for the year!
I generally prefer textile jacket and leather pants for road use in the warmer part of the year. It's about time I got a new pair of pants, though - the old ones are over 10 years old. But you know what it's like when you have a piece of kit that just feels right.
I do also have RST 2-piece leathers, that I use on track and occasionally on the road, but the jacket seems to weight a ton compared to the textile one.
I bought some Alpinestars boots very similar to, if not the same as, yours about 18 months ago. It's taken ages for them to break in - at first gearchanges were a pain because the boots seemed so stiff after my old Oxtars and I even had to adjust the gear lever to get my foot under.

Re: New leathers for the year!
I don't have any problems with the weight of leather and I prefer the protection of them tbh.
I did just buy a brand new helmet though! and it's pretty awesome

Re: New leathers for the year!
Hi Ondurin.
Your leathers look the business.
The design does remind me of some program i saw a while back when someone was selling fake Yamaha (and other makes) leathers.
Like everyone on here I hope that bikers never need the protection that their gear offers them and when I remember the program I saw it was as if they were made of chocolate when they were tested to very easy destuction.
Anyhoos....thought I should let you know as no-one wants chocolate leathers.
Fingers crossed they are genuine and offer good protection (that hopefully you never need).
Cheers
Rosco

Re: New leathers for the year!
I had the leathers checked before I bought them to check that they were actually real or fake. Since my accident 7 months ago I make sure that all my stuff will protect me. My last jacket was a Frank Thomas Titanium (Ambulance service cut it to pieces, when they didn't need to).
Thank's for the concern though, it's appreciated as many people simply don't care.

Re: New leathers for the year!
Cool.
This is the proggie Rosco was talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgygN5sNUWs
They look very similar, hence the concern.

Re: New leathers for the year!
Yeah I've seen that video before, really does show the difference and also what to look for when buying. I only buy from my local garage (Happen to be a Suzuki Dealer) but they had that Yamaha 2 piece in stock It's also heavy and double layered leather with more protection that my last Frank Thomas:shock:
As for the helmet, it again is genuine from the Suzuki dealer but I got them down from £200 to £100 as it was 2015 stock and they wanted rid
