Time for new leathers!
OK guys and gals, time for you all to help me spend my money.
After having had my current leathers for around <mumble> years (All those who know me - yes, it's still those Shoei ones!) I think it's time to splash out on a new set.
Just a few things to help you point me in the right direction:
Must be 2-piece
Must be predominantly blue (to match the bike - LOL)
Got to have CE approved armour
I'm built like a racing snake, so have trouble filling the ar*e in most leathers
No mega-expensive stuff made from unicorn hide with mammoth hair lining, oiled with extract of dodo
Any recommendations / avoids for makes / stores to get them from (I'm in West Yorkshire).
If you can convince me, and the price is right, I may go down the route of a made-to-measure rather than off the peg suit - Then I'm guaranteed to fall off!

Hi Matt,
Try IXS kit, decent quality at reasonable prices J & S accessories the only stockists of ixs i think . . . . google J&S should get you to their web stie.
I've got a Blue / Black set i no longer use .. . . . . but you go swimming in 'em 36" waist 40 - 42 chest 32" inside leg (5'8" tall)

Cheers Tel,
I was looking around J&S and they seemed reasonable.
Might have to pop over to the Doncaster store, as that looks to be a huuuuuge place.....

Re: Time for new leathers!
Hi Matt,
Wow, you're a blast from the past! Gail and I have recently been up to see Kev and you're name came up in the conversation!
Great to see you on the site.
Can't give you any advice on leathers - still can't find a set I'm entirely happy with.
Maybe you'll join us on a day out sometime?
All the best,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Certainly hoping to get out a bit more this year than I have in the last couple.

Matt,
Long time .. Wolf Leathers do a made to fit 2 piece, maybe a problem they based in Leigh-on-Sea in Essex. Read good reports about their work, big investment, maybe worth a look.

Hi Matt, Scott leathers are pretty good and reasonably priced they seem to supply a lot of the racing fraternity so they must be OK. There factory is between Barnard Castle and Darlington. Cheers Terry

Re: Time for new leathers!
Thanks for all the suggestions, guys.
I had a trip over to J&S at Doncaster yesterday. It's one of their Superstores, so is a pretty big place.
I tried several sets by various manufacturers in different sizes, both mix-and-match jacket and jeans, and 'sold together' sets, from the likes of IXS, Yamaha branded, Alpinestars, Frank Thomas, and even Dainese - Ker-Ching!
Service there was good too, the assistant running around getting different sizes for me whilst I hung around in the changing room.
I took my boots and gloves with me too, to make sure that the sleeves and jeans were long enough, even getting to sit on bikes in their showroom to make sure they were comfortable.
I ended up with a set of RST Razor.
These were really the only ones in which my arse wasn't totally flapping around in the breeze, and the jacket is a nice snug fit, coming with full CE armour - including a CE back protector, rather than the piece of 'comfort foam' my last ones came with - and a removable thermal liner.
So I should get a decent 3 seasons of the year out of them, rather than relying on a textile jacket to go over them when it gets a bit cool.
Jackie likes them too, as apparently the shape of the leather on the front of the jeans is a big arrow pointing at my crotch!
Now the fun begins of wearing them round the house to try to break them in a bit. I just hope the neighbours aren't watching, or else they might think I'm a bit
Here's a pic for your delight (and ridicule!)
