BigMac Sign In
Just signing in to say what a fabulous weekend we have had again in Ullapool. Ewan and I are staying in Glasgow for an overnight stop before we head home tomorrow.
It has been a brilliant weekend as always and would like to thank Ross for organising it and everybody for the brilliant company and endless laughing (which has to be easliest the most fun we have had in a long time ).
I can certainly recommend one of these group rideouts to make a memorable birthday with great friends.
I hope everybody's ride home has been good and look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Re: BigMac Sign In
Karen and I got home about 6, very sore bums - seat on new bike not as comfy as the cats.
Great to see some old faces and a couple of new ones, well to me anyway.
Cheers for the organisation Ross, you are a star.

Re: BigMac Sign In
We got home at around 7pm after an interesting ride down the west coast.
Many thanks to everyone who attended, and especially to Ross for organising the whole thing. It was Great to catch up with those we'd met before, and also to put some faces to names for those we hadn't.
The main lesson for me was this...don't try to haggle with Atholl.
Thanks guys!

Re: BigMac Sign In
I think I had the easiest day, home by 3 with a stop off in Carrbridge for coffee. Brilliant weekend - just over 1000 miles for me which counts for a tenth of the bike's entire mileage in the last 6 years!
Top job as organiser Ross, thanks to Linz for keeping the supplies coming, and to everyone for making it a great laugh despite whatever the weather tried to throw at us.
Lorna's comment when I got home? "You've caught the sun." ???!!!

Re: BigMac Sign In
Ditto to all the above comments. Big thanks to Ross and Linz otherwise we wouldn't be there or eating or drinking. Nice seeing some old and new faces, two really great days of ride-outs even if i took the short route home on Saturday.
Another thanks goes to Tracey and Ross for putting me up on Thursday. Not you two but I just wanted to be home today.
Arrived home just after 8, sore derriere and ears.....? 1500 miles over 5 days with a whopping 470 done today.
Only one thing with the bike. The low beam has bust, but lights were never a big thing on the cat.
Thanks again to all involved.
Rich.

Re: BigMac Sign In
Back home too at a very late hour, but made it.
1500+ miles for me The tyre has had it, but it was great fun getting to that state.
Over the moon with the bike and the way it ran all weekend whatever was thrown at it weather wise.
Thanks to all for a wonderful weekend, especially Ross (Chief Planner and Chief Entertainer at times with BoS1)
Looking forward to the write-ups, photos and caption competitions, but after I've had a lie down.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: BigMac Sign In
Got home safe and well after a ride down with Daz in the mainly dry with some spells of proper chucking down.
Had an absolute hoot at the weekend despite the challenging weather.
I've decided the main component in my boots is sponge. I'm thinking I might invest in some Altbergs.
Thanks to Linz for keeping us supplied from the shops and everyone for mucking in at meal times, marking junctions, back marking and putting up with me.
Special thanks to Yound Ewan for keeping us entertained.
Can't wait till the next one.
I've got some monies to get to Terry, Christian , Atholl and MrFrance - I think everyone else has had theirs.
Cheers
Rosco

Re: BigMac Sign In
I'm sure I spotted some of you on the way up.
...what might have been Rosco (Yellow & Black) around Gleneagles at about 1pm with a red bike in front, then another tranche (four of five) south of Aviemore about an hour later.
No incidents at all, which is always good.
p.s. Did someone on a yellow/black leave quite late (saw someone pull out from a rest stop pretty far north around 4pm)
Pity the weather was a bit crap on the way back down for you.
This is what you left behind...as you all know: :( (It was wild again around 11pm on Lewis though)

Re: BigMac Sign In
It can't have been Ross, boss 1 didn't even make it to the event, after 50 miles on the first day it limped back to base (Shotts) and was replaced by boss 3 which ran reasonably well, apart from a slipping clutch. Three bikes and not a proper one among um. Haa Hoo. Methinks yet another numpty point, any seconders?

Re: BigMac Sign In
Was too tired to confirm the mileage last night so here's the official result
1555 miles door to door
Tyre bald and backside has a permanent VPL, but enjoyed every mile. Just don't ask me to do it again next weekend.

Re: BigMac Sign In
I thought he was joking about picking mine up to use before the event.
I don't know whether to feel relieved or insulted that he didn't ask after BOSS 1 failed....
..on balance I'd say relieved, given BOSS 2 wasn't mentioned at all...he seems to be some kind of Mechapath.
-edit- That's some impressive mileage Greencat. I take it you have balls like Shitake mushrooms?
Re: BigMac Sign In
Chris,
Beat me by 54 miles and one day.
Wooster,
I just had a coughing fit and they eventually appeared.
But do I use the bike for work tomorrow????????

If you come down to SnT a wee bit early I'll take you round to the factory to get measured up for a pair.

Chris, Have you thought this through properly? What you have suggested might involve spending money, Ross doesn't do that, unless of course he spies another bag o s---e.

Hopefully they will have some off the shelf numbers available that fit as I might just need them for the run or return journey but if not I'll jaffa tape some poly bags onto my boots I think.
I might hold back on Terry's £6.50 refund from Big Mac to help pay for them
Cheers

Roadrunners are off the shelf, fitted in the factory shop.
All the others are custom made, 3 month wait.

Canny mind what ones I have name wise. Was a 3 month wait,I ordered online direct from the factory.
But well worth it..comfiest boots I've ever owned. 100% waterproof too.
Went a half size up from normal shoe size and they fit perfectly...

Re: BigMac Sign In
Glad to hear BM went off well, wouldn't be a proper ride-out without a bos incident
Altbergs all the way for me, yeah a wait, but well worth it.
Sounds like some mileage covered, I did a paltry 2 385 miles in a week (sounds better in kilometres ) but had to go to Italy for that
