Another cracking weekend, with good company and good banter, and no rain
Stephan got his bike back (he's like a kid with a new toy)
Gotta go and shower no ( the one's in the hostel were not very good as usual)

Edit: 17.23 pm Rosco's got a punture outside Oban,

I'm at the exotic sounding Benderloch.
My transport has just picked me up.
After the Big Mac activities my rear is completely shagged.
I had threads of metal hanging out my rubber.
No matter how much pumping it was given it was as bust as Dirt Bike Dave's patented air-brake's
Post up again later.

Krusty and Krustette back home in Lancaster after a great run down led by Chris. Think we must have been having too much fun down the Braemar to Glenshee road as I've got a couple of busted seals and no oil in the forks! Rode down to Lancaster with loads of paper towels stuffed in between calipers and fork legs
Thanks all for a fantastic weekend of beer, banter and bikes, an absolute blast !

Just back home, safe but perhaps not sound.
Mileage today - 444.2
Cracking weekend, big thanks to Ross & Furballs for the organising. Really good to see everyone again and meet all the new big-mac-ers. Roll on S&T.

Re: BigMac Sign in
Got back last night about half seven or something, absolutley knackerred after a really fantastic weekend of spectacular scenery, great dry miles and a Saturday ride that I would put very close to the most fun that I have ever had on a motorcycle. Need new tyres, not quite as bad as Ross but booked in for Saturday anyway. Big thanks to all the organisation, if anyone hasn't been on one of these I would recommend signing up as there are few better ways to spend a weekend!
Great ride back down with Greencat too, I felt like a bit of a tit when I rolled up at the service station just north of Edinburgh in full waterproofs with thermal gloves in bright sunshine and 20+ degree heat but IT WAS COLD in the Cairn Gorms!!!
Once again, cheers to all. A weekend that saw Ducati fall over at high speed (Athol), slow speed (DBD) and test the skills of the rider with no clutch(Athol)!

Home after an eventful ride home.
Rob Linz and steve are en route to Roscos house.
Rosco and bike on recovery vehicle.
Knackered. Great weekend as usual.
My bike now has it's own air brake.
Will post up on the shenanigans later
Thanks to Davie for leading and Ross for organising.

Re: BigMac Sign in
Cheating a bit as I've been back for a bit, but home in Edinburgh safe and sound none the less.
Thanks also from me to Davie and Ross for the organisation - even though it was around my neck of the woods it was still great fun riding with such a diverse group!
Feeling a bit left out as so far nothing has fallen / snapped / exploded off my bike but I can live with that :-)
Will organise some pics soon, but I believe that between them Steve and Ross have every moment suitably photographed! For now, have this and this!
Cheers all,
Lee

Re: BigMac Sign in
Got home today around 4pm - but I did have the best part of a day in Thirsk. Most of which was spent sleeping!
Thanks to Rosco for organising the Big Mac 2011 - as ambitious and thrilling as ever. I really enjoyed getting out and stretching the Duc's legs. At last I got to use it properly. The usual sweep of bike related incidents kept us busy and, once the pain (mental and physical) has subsided and the beer is flowing, amused!
Thanks too to all who came along and made it what it was - fantastic! Respect to our German friends for travelling a long way to spend time with us. I hope they had a good time. To those new to the group I hope it has whetted your appetite for joining us again sometime. To the 'regulars' - another mission successfully accomplished. Thanks, once again, for the company.
Had a great run down South with MevsyD. The weather as great all the way down and we got to do:
the Ullapool to Inverness road again;
the Cairngorms via Tomintol & Braemar;
the A7 Edinburgh to Galashiels;
Brampton to Alston to Barnard Castle.
All wonderful roads and a fitting ending to a superb weekend. I'm shattered - in the best way possible.
Sorry to hear there have been a few more incidents. I hope they didn't cause too much inconvenience and everyone is home safely.
Tomorrow - a call to the dealer to obtain the handful of fairing screws now missing!
Chris

Re: BigMac Sign in
Myself and Rob have just got home after an amazing weekend and 1650 miles covered. This really is one of the best rideouts we have attended and luckily the R1 has got home without any mishaps at all.
The company was brilliant as ever and the route was very enjoyable and well led and organised.
Rob's heading for a physio appointment now and think this evening will be a glass of wine and doing very little to chill.
Many thanks again to Rosco (and his kind family who left home for 2 nights) so that we could stay over at his house and break up our journey.
We will sign in again later and hopefully the pictures will be worth the wait :lol3:

If it was 8 or 9 last night it would have been. I'm sure we did do the M8, although right now there are so many M's I've ridden since Thursday they've become a blurr.
(memory parity error ). Wow, nearly spotted , I sometimes feel like I'm the Google camera car, been many places, but in my case no-one's seen me :o

Thought it was a long shit.
Funnily enough I've seen the Google camera car twice.
Last time was only a couple of weeks ago on the road back from Greenock.
(It isn't hard to miss since it looks like someone is driving around with a tannoy system strapped to the roof )

Re: BigMac Sign in
Hi,
at 4 pm tom and me also arrived save at home, Dachsi and Bruno just about 2 hours before. Had just some difficulties in Edinbourgh, as someone tried to steal Dachsis Cat and cut the wires to the starter lock, so we could not start our last way to the ferry. But a nice nice biker from the AA came and repaired it for the trip home.
So at first thanks to all of you for organisation, leading, helps for our (Stephans) cat and changing rooms and whatever....!
Be sure we´ll come back
But for the moment we need a shower, a beer and something to eat, so pictures and more are following

Hi Matzi, Tom, Dashsi & Bruno
Glad to hear you are back safe and well.
Sorry to hear that some low-life idiot tried to steal Dashci's cat.
Glad to hear she got fixed up ok and hope not too much damage done.
Hopefully this hasn't tainted your view of Scotland.
We did show you the best bits up North adn hope this makes up for it.
I'm embarrassed that you might beat me with your photo upload's. I've nearly 1000 to go through and haven't made time yet. Unfortunately I managed to leave my Satnav on all day on Monday and Tuesday (charging at the mains) and it overwrote the log of where I'd been and more importantly when. I was hoping to use this information to geotag the pictures.
You'll just have to remember (guess) where you were and then remember I was a bit behind.
If I don't see you before I'll probably see you in the Alps in 2013. and I'll bring the dice and the cards.

Glad you all got home OK, sorry to hear of the attempted theft.
It was good meeting you all, hope you all enjoyed your time.
Ross I can send you my gpx files. Are you auto geo-tagging or you doing them manually?

Hi Steve
I was always a bit behind you but I guess it could help.
I've never geotagged before so any assistance would be appreciated (windows platform).
Oh and my camera's clock was 50mins slow to make things even harder!!!
Auto sounds quicker but less accurate especially as I was only occasionally with you and more often than not well behind.
Cheers
