Ducati, Thundercat and RD have all had a quiet week. Did 195 miles in 2 days on my little Suzuki 125, great fun!

Re: what have you done to the bike today
Yesterday I went to service a Triumph Sprint RS that me and a mate bought that had a low speed spill on the right side to do up and sell on, I bought oil, coolant, oil filter and sparkies from Halfords a couple weeks ago.
Dropped the oil, dropped the coolant, changed the sparkies, fought with the oil filter and finally got it out, opened the oil filter box to find that one supplied was an internal one, but we needed an external oil filter.. BUGGER.
So worked on the pegs and put the front sub frame and electrics back on.
Then worked on the brakes on my other project (details soon, you'll like this) but that didn't go too well so will have to completely strip them.

Re: what have you done to the bike today
Got wet on the way to work this morning, only 11 miles and soggy feet, it seems my waterproof boots have finally given up
Seeing as this happened to me on Friday and the boots were still damp yesterday morning, I have bought this:

Will let you know how it goes.

Re: what have you done to the bike today
Spent an hour trying to clean up the previous owners mess of a chain on the Adv990. Why oh why to people continue to use 'no-fling' gunk?
Just a massive mess of dirty, gritty, sticky shit all round the front & rear sprockets. Still not right, brass brushes and more chain cleaner required.

Pan currently in for mot, sat waiting in cafe
Already suspecting a fail as one of the headlight bulbs is out but just haven't had chance to get round to it, plus I looked at the current mot certificate and it expires today ever so organised I am!

Well well well MoT's all around it would seem Mine was in on Monday and it passed with flying colours
Re: what have you done to the bike today
Investigated why the parking lights don't come on when you turn the ignition switch to "P" on the daughter's bike (nearly-new MT-07).
Checked the "Parking lighting" fuse - OK. Checked voltage to fuse - OK.
Blagged a copy of the circuit diagram off a dealer (who was, of course, only too happy to let me sort it out rather than fix it under warranty). Saw that "Parking lighting" fuse just feeds feeds the turn signal/hazard relay, not the pilot and rear lights.
Re-read the actual wording of the Owner's Manual, and discovered that, no, the parking lights aren't supposed to come on in "P", even though the symbol on the switch, like all other Yams of my acquaintance, has a sort of "light" symbol next to the "P". I quote - "The hazard lights and turn signal lights can be turned on, but all other electrical systems are off."
Er - what's the point? Why not just enable the hazard lights all the time, like in a car, or at least when the steering lock is on, and save the extra position on the switch? Why weren't the dealer's staff aware that Yamaha have changed things? And why the confusing nomenclature in the handbook ("Parking lighting fuse" etc?)
Ah, well, at least I didn't waste too much time on it, and it turned out to be not a fault at all. And I guess I really should have read the wording of the book a bit more closely.
Cracking little bike, though.

Re: what have you done to the bike today
Rode it to & from work again, had a bit of an oh shit moment when an Audi driving idiot decided to overtake a car & head straight towards me, luckily realised I was heading towards him & swerved back into his lane kinda forcing the car he was overtaking to swerve into the kerb.
Is it just me or have Audi drivers taken over from the BMW drivers as f--kwits of the road?
Paul.

Re: what have you done to the bike today
I left mine in the garage.
The Met Office forecast couldn't have been more wrong again.
They forecast persistent rain, but it was gorgeous all day.
(A 'perfect' day for the bike in all honesty)

Rode mine to work, trying not to act like a child.......failed miserably, did a big back wheel skid up to a T junction for no reason.

Re: what have you done to the bike today
Nothing to the bike today but for it, booked in for a fork service* and ordered an Autocom rider lead - current one has hardly lasted a year
* New rear shock has highlighted the front wasn't very clever either.
