Big Mac - Feasibility Study Part 2
Hi All
In light of the slow take up for 1st weekend in August can I get folks to post up their preference of dates please
Friday 1st August 2014 for 3 nights.
Rideouts on the Saturday and Sunday.
Friday 8th August 2014 for 3 nights.
Rideouts on the Saturday and Sunday.
Thinking of Braemar Youth Hostel as a base for anyone who wishes to stay there (plenty of other accommodation around too) - they still have space at the moment. Will probably be in the Cairngorms somewhere though
We've been here before (2010) - Some photos here - (some with LOTS more hair)
Have a look here to get a feel for the area - http://braemarscotland.co.uk/
Link to the SYHA site here -
To book the Youth Hostel (group booking) I want minimum of 12 folks interested before we commit.
Can folks post up their intention to attending please (and whether or not you'd like to stay at the youth hostel).
Probably be looking for deposits by the end of the month (circa £20) I think.
Thinking the total cost for accommodation (most food and a few ) will be around £80.....This should cover breakfast, one or probably two dinners at the hostel and a few scoops of light refreshments.
Looking forward to hearing from y'all.
Cheers
Rosco
PLEASE POST YOUR AVAILABILITY AND PREFERENCE FOR EITHER DATE PLEASE
e.g. Rosco - Can make 1st or 8th August - happy to do either.

Let's go for the 8th if possible (canna make the other w/e anyway) as the S&T meeting would only be 2 weeks before the 1st August. Need a little spread of time between rideouts.
Linz says the same too.

Re: Big Mac - Feasibility Study Part 2
Soz cant meet either. Flying on the 5th so just getting back on the 4th with packing to do, is not going to wash. No matter how many brownie points I have now or can accrue before August.
Enjoy it all. It is lovely up there.

I can make almost any date, but Rob's suggestion makes a lot of sense. Either way acc. might be a problem with school hols.

Re: Big Mac - Feasibility Study Part 2
Still need some more for either date(s) before I can group book anywhere.
Come on peeps.
Sorry to hear the dates aren't the best for you Davie.....You'll need to venture South of the border for one of the more Southernly ride-outs before they shut the gates in September.
Cheers

Changed my mind, second weekend for me too now - first clashes with the Commonwealth Games Cycling Road Race.

Re: Big Mac - Feasibility Study Part 2
Not quite enough bodies to book it yet....
Anymore for anymore??
Might need a plan B for accommodation as the place Wooster suggested is full the 2nd weekend and unless we can get 10 staying at the hostel we can't do a group booking which means everyone needs an individual membership and it works out more expensive.

Re: Big Mac - Feasibility Study Part 2
Are the old guys interested in going to this meeting, old Bob, Gordon and co?
Bit thin on the grounds for numbers which is a shame as its a nice area and that Braemar to Blairgowrie road is cracking.

Nice pic for the ladies anyway Bob.
Anyway, would you be attending if the rideout was on the 1st of August?
Ross is just trying to find out the most pleasing date for most folk. Sorry about the old jibe at you lot, but you are referred to the old or wise boys.

The Old Wise guys!
Ha! Ha!
We are away on the 5th August, but if the dates were for 1st August, I myself would consider going but will have to speak to the others and get back to you.
I will go with the flow but if it suits the majority to go on the 8th then I would suggest staying with the 8th.
We will be at the wee Mac and will see you there.

Would like to get along, but can't confirm yet - new job and all that and not sure of workloads in August yet - earlier the better for us is best though.

Re: Big Mac - Feasibility Study Part 2
I'm now a maybe.
Due to the arrival of another Eddie in October, I'm going to need to minimise time off between now and then.
If I can pop in on the way south for a night I will do.
Big Mac 2014 or Nurburgring.....
