It is the axle nut - or as Yamaha call it 'Nut, self Locking' part number 95607-18200

Remove it from the bike, soak it in WD40, attack it with a wire brush and it'll look good as new Tom.

I use this kind of stuff on all my rusty fixings, it converts the rust to a stable black finish that lasts about a year.
(i.e. Ideal for those rusty screwheads on your chain guard)

if you are really not confident with mechanical things I suggest you put several layers of masking take on the swinging arm to protect it then try cleaning the nut with wire brush or wire wool whilst in situ as it is important that this nut is done up tight and the wheels are alignedTomCom wrote:i am not good with all the maintenance
