Manx GP
First topic message reminder :
Those that attended BC this year and recent big & wee Macs will remember Bob and Pete the "elderly" brothers who ride rather quickly. Pete rides an equally elderly silver Honda VFR. I have just received news this morning that Pete has crashed heavily whilst practicing for the Classic Manx GP race, and has suffered a broken collar bone and pelvis, and no doubt multiple bruising. He's being flown to Liverpool this morning for an operation, as I get updates on his condition, I'll post up.

Oh my goodness, that's scarey stuff.
You're right about the blanking out thing, it's self preservation.
Thanks for keeping us posted, Hope he feels better real soon

Re: Manx GP
Just spoken to Bob, he saw Pete Sunday afternoon, and he is very much better, sitting up and taking solids, hoping to be moved nearer to home shortly (Victoria hospital Bpl) He says he wont be racing anymore, but hopes to road ride again.

Re: Manx GP
Scary times, that picture looks awful, from the looks of it he is ironically lucky to be in the state he is and I just hope he makes a speedy and strong recovery.
Lets hope he gets back on the horse again, I've only met him once but he is truly one of the good uns, all our best Terry when you're next in contact.
Cheers
Steve

Re: Manx GP
Fantastic news! Pete got transferred to Blackpool's Victoria hospital, and since then has been discharged, along with a zimmer frame. He has hung up his racing leathers for good, but is hoping to be back on a road bike early in the new year.

Re: Manx GP
Its been a while since I last posted on this subject, but delighted to report that Pete was out for a ride with brother Bob the other weekend and is fully recovered. He is booked in at the poppy house for this years B/C and might also make the W/M.

Re: Manx GP
That's amazing Terry, it's not always easy to recover from such an accident the older you get, not just physically but mentally too and it's easy to lose confidence.
Looking forward to seeing you all at BC!
